About Me

Marc Cornelius Jackson was born to Ronald and Jacqueline Jackson in 1978. He was led to Christ by his father, who was a pastor, at the tender age of seven. Marc was rooted in the in the Lord early in life, but swayed from the faith a few years after the separation of his parents.Marc had a love for rap music and by the age of ten, he began to compose his own raps. He was inspired by such artists as RUN DMC, LL COOL J, and the FAT BOYS. As a young boy, he demonstrated his talent and would win battles against older rappers from the neighborhood. However, without a spiritual covering, his music flourished but his grades and attendance in school plummeted. By the age of 15, Marc was no longer attending church and he was side tracked by drugs, sex, fast money and violence. This lifestyle also leaked into lyrics of his music. Marc rapped under the name Big Po, which propelled him in front of many including Judge Fat Joe during a local competition.Marc's talent and passion for rap music brought him center stage in 1998. At the Gallery Mall in Philadelphia, Marc (Big Po) won the Source Magazine's Unsigned hype Semi Finals Contest. Later that same year, his unique sound caught the attention of Jive Records which lead to contract negotiations which his manager turned down. Marc grew frustrated and unaware of God's overall plan for his life. Marc continued to live the street life, but began to feel a pull from God which he could not explain. At the low point, Marc ended up in a robbery situation alone in t a dark alley with 3 guns to his head. One gunman was encouraged to shoot him in the head unsatisfied with there gain. Marc seeing this moment as the end of his life spoke silently to God, then a feeling of comfort overtook him. Shortly thereafter, Marc gave up the street life for a nine to five job.In 2001, Marc was drawn by the spirit and began to look for a church home. After being, encouraged by his mother to visit Victory Christian Center, he attended a service and was impacted by the message preached by Dr. Bishop Jimmie A. Ellis III. The whole experience at V.C.C. touched a part of him that had not been touched in years. Marc joined V.C.C. leaving his old life and every thing that represented it behind, including his raps. For three years Marc put his passion and love for rap music on hold to seek God's true purpose for hi life. During that time, Marc was inspired by a performance from Brother Rasheen Farlow (Daniel Ocean). In April 2003 God renewed his creativity and passion for rap music but this time with the anointed message and a mission. Marc's mom always said, "One day he would rap the Gospel!"
