About Me

.. .. ..
Myspace Layouts
My background is in Nuclear Power
I went through the Navy Nuclear Power program and served on a Fast Attack Submarine. I then instructed Nuclear Power at the Naval training facility in Idaho. After getting out of the service I went to work for Alabama Power Company at its Farley Nuclear Plant. I am currently retired from there on disability(I have a heart condition)
My hobby's
Are building and working on computers, fishing (not much anymore), photography (too expensive) and mostly Bible Study and research. My memory and stamina are poor though so I have to do a little at a time and make good notes
Personal Testimony:
I was about nine or ten I guess When I was saved I am not sure of the exact age. My parents were Christian by heritage. We did not attend Church but my parents believed in God and showed reverence to the Church and to God.(They were both saved before they died).
A friend had given me a tract at School. It told basically about Jesus and why we needed a savior. I had already been praying and talking to God on my own but I had not come under conviction yet. After reading this tract I knew that I was lost and in need of a savior.
On the back of the tract was a local phone number to a dial-a-prayer line. I sneaked the phone into my bedroom and dialed the number. I talked to a very nice Christian lady for several minutes and then she had prayer with me. I got saved right then but she told me that the next time I went to Church I needed to make a public acknowledgment that the Lord had saved me.
We had not been to Church in a long time so I didn't know when this might happen. But within a few days we got a phone call from our neighbors. Now I didn't even know they went to Church, as a matter of fact I think this is one of the few times that they did. But low and behold they had called to invite my sister and I to Church with them the next Sunday.
I do not know the name of the Church but I do know that it was Baptist. When the altar call was given (not having been Churched I didn't even know what an altar call was) I leaped out into the isle and (being led by the Holy Spirit) made my way to the front. It was not until afterward that I realized that my neighbors were shocked and dismayed by the whole thing. On the way home they were quietly trying to discuss what to tell my parents. Not being very church knowledgeable themselves I could tell they were very intimidated.
All of that did not matter to me though because God had found a way to get me into that Church so that I could make a public profession of my faith in Jesus Christ. I did not know what to do or how to do it but the Holy Spirit moved me to do what needed to be done.
I have not always been the best Christian example and like many other Christians I have hurt my testimony by getting out in the world. The Lord has chastised me severely on occasion and I pray that those days are over. I am very careful in my Christian walk these days and closely guard my testimony. I have my armor and I know how to use it. I look forward to the day that we lay this sinful flesh down and take on a new body that is free from the corruption of sin. I long for a life free of temptation and trials.
You scored as Fundamentalist. You are a fundamentalist. You take the Bible as the foundation of your faith and read it very literally, and it shapes your worldview. Non-fundamentalist Christians have watered-down the Gospel in your view, and academic study of the Bible stops us from 'taking God at his word.' Science is opposed to faith, as it contradicts basic biblical truths.
What's your theological worldview?

U.S. Navy Submarine Video

Here is some modern Nuclear Submarine video footage from the war. Most of the Sub's in this video are Trident SSBN (Ballistic Missile Sub) and Los Angeles Class SSN's (Fast Attack). I was stationed on the older 637 class SSN but there were few major noticeable changes in design between it and the 688 class boats. The Los Angeles Class (688) was bigger, faster, quieter and had improved weapons and electronics systems under the hood though.
