About Me

Colour-Coded was formed in Dundee, Scotland. The name Colour-Coded originates from lead singer and rhythm guitarist Dave Brown’s inability to see certain colours due to his colour blindness. A simple concept but a catchy and effective name – we thought. Colour-Coded is an Alternative/Indie/Rock band with musical influences such as Snow Patrol, Editors, Bloc Party and Goo Goo Dolls. The band aims to produce commercial indie music which is different to the more harsh sounding (but good all the same) indie music out there at the moment by adding a more Rock/Pop vibe. The band has only been formed for a year and a half and has already caught the attention of local radio stations and celebrity names alike. Dundee’s number one radio station Tayfm played their single “Same Mistake” after the band sent their demo in to a local DJ for an opinion of their music and have had a lot of requests for the song since its air time. The band also got through to the final five of the “Rock Against Racism” gigs happening up and down the country and had the opportunity to play with Scouting For Girls but were sadly pipped at the post. Furthermore, Fraser managed to talk his way backstage to meet Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and passed on a demo to him to which they received positive feed back. And most recently, Alex Zane chose their single “Same Mistake” to be played on the second of his myspace radio shows where he plugged the band and their future gigs. Colour-Coded have played various venues in Dundee and Glasgow with their next gig being Barrowlands 2 in Glasgow. MyGen Profile Generator
