HELLFIRE RED

About Me

NEW!!!

8/23/07 News Update

Hello everyone... it is my sad duty to report that Hellfire Red will be put to rest. I have been informed that at the moment no one has time for this project. Things may blossom again in the future however, as we never got off the ground, it looks like it may never happen. I am turning my full attention to my band ECTOPLASM . Please check us out & stay in touch. I would like to thank all who showed their support & a big FUCK OFF to a few individuals (who know who they are) that would rather be unfocused, selfish or just sit around feeling sorry for themselves with a crack pipe in their mouth. Best of luck loosers!

Band Bio

HELLFIRE RED was the brainchild of Russ Strahan (Lead Guitar / Vocal) & Gary Isom (Drums / Vocal). Our vision began within the ranks of Distant Sun (Captain Beyond tribute band wich Russ & Gary were both members of...), with the idea of writing our own songs. The first lineup of HELLFIRE RED consisted of Russ & Gary with Mark Amen on bass & JB Beverly on vocals. Due to some musical & personal differences, Russ & Gary decided to replace Mark & JB with some musicians who were more in touch with their ethical & musical philosophy. After some time a decision was made to also add another guitarist to heavy up the sound, give room for embellishment, fill the gaps during solos & allow live guitar harmonies.

Russ has been an avid fan and rider of motorcycles for many years. When he decided to start customizing his Harley, long time friend & band mate Dave Sherman suggested local musician & bike builder Steve (of Iron Works Cycles & bassist for DC. garage punk band Adam West) to do the work. While hanging out at the shop... they started passing around well liked bands such as Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, MotorHead, Entombed & so on. Finding they both had much in common, Russ asked Steve if he would like to step in for the second guitar spot.

During the period of hiring Steve, Gary had been talking to Fezz, (the six string bass master general of Admiral Browning fame), about our need for a proficient bass player. After our first jam & a few sips of Jim Beam together, it was determined that Fezz was ideal for the spot.

After several auditions, Hellfire Red decided on vocalist Rodney Davidson to front the band. Rodney is well known from the bands H Hour & most recently Countershaft. He has killer set of pipes & is the perfect compliment to our sound & chemistry.

With the additions of Steve, Fezz & Rodney, we are confident that we have a lineup of seasoned pros’ who are also some top notch players.

Hellfire Red are currently in the writing stages for the first release titled "Look at the Sky". We will be hitting the studio in early 2007. Stay tuned...

Merchandise coming soon!

6/25/07 News Update

Hellfire Red is undergoing some major re-vamping. It appears that Gary & Steve no longer have time for this project due to personal obligations. Rodney, Fezz & myself plan to continue on with new members & some new material is on the way as well. Thanks for hanging in there with us... we hope to have our shit together soon.

7/6/07 News Update

Hellfire Red would like to welcome Rob Cougin on Drums! You may remember him from Wretched, Indestroy, Vortex of Insanity & Back Alley Gators. Rob is an amazing talent & will bring the much needed "fire" back to the band after the many delays caused by anothers selfishness. We will not allow this to slow our pace anymore and will be back on track shortly!

8/9/07 News Update

Well once again, things are not looking good. There has been no communication from band members & we have not practiced in some time now. I think I am getting ready to put this to rest, as I will be rather busy with my other projects. It seems a damned shame to have written so much killer material, only just to cast it aside however; I may be using some of the songs for the upcoming Pentagram release. I would like to thank everyone who showed support.
