Kelly's sophomore release QUEEN FAREENA is now available for online ordering from the above link, and available in stores April 21, 2009 on Dogstreet Records.
Charting new territory, "Queen Fareena" winds down a lazy river of ragtime, americana roots, and country blues. The rhythm section includes Jean-Paul Gaster (Clutch) on drums, and upright bassist Johnny "Lawless" (J.B. Beverly and the Wayward Drifters), along with a top notch brass section, fiddle and squeeze box!
Since 1987 Kelly Carmichael has played guitar in hard rock band Internal Void and in 2003 recorded with Pentagram (USA) for the Show 'em How release. Beneath Kelly's electric guitar sound lies roots of blues, in fact all the way back to the early Delta & Country Blues.
In 2005 Kelly released his debut solo album "Old Stock" on Dogstreet Records. Old Stock features Kelly on both vocals and fingerstyle acoustic guitar ranging from delta stomp, country blues, and piedmont to old time spirituals. Accompanying Kelly on "Old Stock" are exceptional fiddle, mandolin, and harmonica performances which gives each song a fresh feel and direction.
Touring with Clutch in the Spring and Fall of 2005, Kelly covered the Mid-West, North East and the deep South areas of the U.S.
