DOWNPRESSOR est un side-project créé en 2006 à NARBONNE,
il est issu de la rencontre et de la collaboration de 2 membres du groupe SIGNS (Kemal et Julien) avec Nika, chanteuse/guitariste charismatique et songwriteuse de talent...
Après avoir écrit, enregistré, et développer sur scène leurs compositions, le trio a été rejoint depuis début 2007 par Souria au chant et Jeremy à la guitare et aux effets.
L'expérience musicale et scénique de ces musiciens fait de cette formation un groupe mature, désireux de faire partager son univers et de faire découvrir son spectacle conceptuel loin des studios d'enregistrement.
Ce quintet original évolue dans un style à la fois déroutant et attirant,
une fusion électro-acoustique qui explore trip-hop, dub, down-tempo, soul jazz, drum&bass
à l'instar de ses illustres prédécesseurs tel que PORTISHEAD, MASSIVE ATTACK, MORCHEEBA ou encore ARCHIVE...
DOWNPRESSOR vient d'achever l'enregistrement de son premier EP
6 titres en autoproduction, disponible en concert ou sur demande.

arises from the meeting and from the collaboration of 2 members of the metal-fusion band SIGNS (Kemal and Julian) with Nika, a charismatic singer / guitarist and talented songwriter…
Having written, recorded, and having developed their compositions on stage, the trio was joined since the beginning of 2007 by Souria (vocals) and Jeremy (guitar and effects).
The musical and scenic experience of these musicians makes of this forming a mature band, avid to make share its universe and to make discover its abstract show far from recording studios.
This original quintet plays on a puzzling and attractive style,
an electro-acoustic fusion which investigates trip-hop, dub, soul-jazz, down-tempo, turntablism... following the example of his famous predecessors such as PORTISHEAD, MASSIVE ATTACK, MORCHEEBA or still ARCHIVE...
DOWNPRESSOR has just finished the recording of its first EP 6 titles in auto production, available in concert or on inquiry.
