Damian Drac Denyer.
of the immensely popular "steamroller funk" band The Crux, Baritone Sax player Drac has more than a full-time job on his hands. However, his devotion to The Crux has not prevented the indefatigable Drac from expanding his musical vision.
Drac started in West London playing the baritone saxophone with the Great Oak Big Band, run by Gloria Denyer with players from such bands as the Shirley Bassey Orchestra and the Ted Heath Orchestra. Drac performed throughout the United Kingdom at renowned venues and festivals including Ronnie Scotts,The Glasgow Jazz Festival and Wigan Jazz Festival.
A WAAPA graduate who performed with the Western Australia Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO), Drac has played with jazz greats such as Danny Moss and James Morrison and supported the likes of George Benson and Shirley Bassey.
In great demand as a performer and recording artist Drac has worked with The Mojos, Li Fi and the Delta Rhythm Kings, Prawns With Horns, Special Brew, Reg Zar and the King Bees as well as artists such as Dave Brewer, Jeff Lang, Lucky Oceans, Ivan Zar. Drac has performed on in excess of fifty recordings.
A founding member of the west coast hipsters of all things blue - The Vibrolators (1997), Drac has maintained a performing schedule of over 200 gigs a year touring Australia playing at Woodford Festival, Gympie Muster (QLD), Lithgow Festival, Goulburn Blues (NSW), Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. Locally he has covered the entire Festival circuit from Bridgetown Blues, Claisebrook, Joondalup, Melville, Point Walter, Fremantle, Wignalls Roots, to the Margaret River Wine Festival, York Jazz, Toodyay and Fairbridge Folk.
Jus Jump, a five piece jump swing boogie woogie outfit which Drac started in 2001 as leader and manager, has held long term residencies at the Universal Bar, The Deen, The Paddo, Clancy's Fish Pub, Raffles, Moon and Sixpence and The Windsor.
Drac can be seen doing his famous bar walk in countless venues around town. Currently he is performing with the Chameleon Brass Band (a New Orleans style marching funk band Denise Dale and the High Hat Club (a jazz quintet with singer), Swing generation horn section, The Vibrolators, as well as session work and teaching.
Drac uses a Rampone and Cazzani (Italy) Saxophone and uses Brendan Tibbs silver mouthpiece.

Ro Mania

Drove round the top side of Romania. Horses and carts, old men in cool suits and hats and mountains.  Found my family in Bralia using an old letter I was sent in high school.  :)

Northsea jazz festival was great. James Carter was wow. Maceo what can I say, Johnny Griffin :).  Sly Stone was all fucked up, managed to sing one awsome song, nearly fell off the stage.......don...

not so funky

tower of power............it was ok. I just didnt want to dance, so it wasnt really funk. soho is very cool at night.
