to UK US CONNECTIONS a gateway to communication for British Expats and thank you for stopping by.
I have been living here in Atlanta for 6 years now and I love it! It continues to be a most interesting and challenging life experience.
When we first moved here, although we were excited and embraced the idea of relocating, we soon realized how unprepared we were for the unexpected!!! It was in fact a huge culture shock.
I imagine many of you can identify with this! I didn't realize how much I would eventually miss the UK and grow to truly appreciate it.
Sooooooo, I decided to create this UK US CONNECTIONS website for several reasons. Initially we didn't know anyone upon our arrival, and it took a while before we met some great people and forged valuable friendships. Suffice to say I feel incredibly fortunate today as I have a fabulous group of friends who are like family.
Additionally, I know we've all had some difficult and challenging times due to a lack of information and, to this day, I still continue to learn something new. Last but not least, LETS KEEP IT REAL, WE JUST MISS "OUR STUFF" sometimes don't we!
hope this forum will both attract and be useful to individuals, who currently reside in the UK and may be thinking about moving to Atlanta and/or other parts of the USA.
Each day here results in new lessons and I would like to create a forum where together we Expats can continue to enrich our lives and...
1. all benefit from the exchange of information and news that will be helpful to us or particularly relevant to individuals, especially newcomers to the USA.
2. create new links and network near and far
3. make new friends and reminisce,
4. be a source of comfort or reassurance to individuals who may be here on their own, or separated from their family
5. pass on relevant information which may help others to avoid making the same mistakes we have
6. give tips that could save money
7. have a great time and maintain that UK Vibe.
