JUSTICE concerns the proper ordering
of things and persons within a society.
As a concept it has been subject to philosophical,
legal, and theological reflection and debate
throughout history. But what is justice for a 19
year old professional baseball player that was
sentenced to do a 78 year sentence because he
was falsely accused for a crime that he never commited?Mr. Jimmy C. Gardner was falsely
accused of entering the home of Wilma Galati
and her mother on May 16, 1987, at about 6:45 am.
That is when he was said to have allegedly rape
Ms. Galati, and took money and property. Ms. Galati
never identified Mr. Gardner as being her rapist and
neither did DNA testing. On July 24, 1987, at about
10:15 pm, a light to medium complexioned black male
broke and entered the home of Mrs. Lillian Ruckman,
beat her, allegedly raped her, and took money. At a
pre-trail, Ms. Ruckman stated Mr. Gardner, a dark
complexioned black male, was not the assailant, and
she went on to identify another man, Gary Hatchett as
her attacker. So is the system calling Ms. Ruckman a lier?
Or is the system not bold enough to finally stand up and
say they were wrong. Mr. Jimmy C. Gardner will never be
able to get back the years he has lost to be with his wife,
family, and friends, but what about his FREEDOM?
