My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/randyblossom
Band Members: As with most solo artist Randy Blossom is the only permanent band member with a cast of excellent musicians playing on various tracks throughout the 1st and 2nd CD's. Randy plays all the electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, on both CD's. Randy sings all vocals on the 1st CD, and the majority of vocals on the 2nd CD. On the new CD Randy has 2 guest singers. Al Silviera sings The Blue on the new CD. Mike Hartwig, (from the Concord based rock band Liquid) also sings 3 songs, which are titled, I love your jam, When were together, and Don't take my freedom. There are 4 drummers on the new CD. Local drummer Russ Hawkins, the hard hitting Jake wood, Mick Berry co-author of the drummers bible, and Austrian born Chris Williams, who plays on the majority of the songs.
Influences: AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Revolver, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ronnie james Dio, Metallica,Queensryche, Creedence clearwater revival, The Damned, The Doors, Foghat, Van Halen, UFO, Alice in Chains, Bullet Boys, Guns n Roses, Tesla, Motley Crue, Dead Kennedys, Peter Frampton, Def Leppard, The Eagles, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, various musicians I have jammed with, Life experiences, Blues music, Santana, Scorpions, Sex Pistols, old school funk, Jeff Beck, ZZ top, Tesla, Pat Travers, Robin Trower, Joe Satriano, Heart, Lynryd Skynrd, Montrose, Muse, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, OZZY, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Prince, Red hot chili peppers, David Lee Roth, The Ramones, Black stone cherry, soil, Drop box, Shinedown, Priestess, Brides of destruction, Ratt, The cult, and many others.
Sounds Like: On the CD Standing in the middle of your mind the first song, should've left that girl alone is a straight forward rocker. Mike McKee plays the drums on this song and really rips it up. The police siren in this song was recorded out in the cornfields of Dixon California, and is real. The next song, Staring at the sun is more of a pop rocker along the lines of the Beatles meeting Cheap trick and is easily the most downloaded song on the CD. Track #3, The blue is a slow and tastefully melodic song. Songs #4 the sands of time and #7 The day heaven cried, have heavy doses of influence from Led Zeppelin. The Sands of time is a tale of love gone sour while The day heaven Cried is a medium paced rocker. Track 5 has a Aerosmith kind of vibe with some tasty slide guitar work and harmony vocals. Another toe tapper 1960 also has some nice slide guitar in it. Song #8, The unborn, has an eerily haunting guitar riff reminiscent of a Black Sabbath style of song. The title track Standing in the middle of your mind is acoustic guitar and vocals only. Finally the last song Take her down is a ballad about a long distance love affair. Acoustic and electric guitars swirl together for some sweet ear candy. I hope you enjoy my music as much as I did bringing it to life from scratch.
