About Me

Never judge someone 'till you've walked a mile in their shoes and once you've walked a mile in their shoes, you'll be a mile away from them.... with their shoes.
I'm Cory and I'm a Flying V nut. I have been a rabid fan of the Flying V master; Michael Schenker since I first saw him in UFO in 1977. I have 4 flying V's (so far) and other guitars also but my V's are by far my favorites. They are very comfortable to play, look cool and they sound great!
I live at 9200 feet high in the mountains over Colorado Springs with my two beautiful daughters Camille and Casey 11 & 8 respectfully. I have an adopted Greyhound named Apollo. He is a 6 or 7 year old retired racer and he is VERY sweet. Greyhounds tend to be "velcro" dogs and he certainly is. He follows me everywhere. I also have an adopted Pit-bull named Bert. He's a big friendly meathead. He was just a puppy when I got him. Along with Apollo and Bert, I have a cat named Buddy. He is a "Maine Coon" which is the largest domestic cat breed in the world. Last but not least, a little black cat named Tulip. She's the talkinest cat I have ever come across. She's ALWAYS saying something. Check out my pictures of them. They are all adoptions btw.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and came here in January of 2005. I really love it here. The air and water are clean, the weather is nice (4 seasons) and it is some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen!
Music is something I am passionate about and have been since I saw my elementary school orchestra when I was in 4th grade. I like many kinds of music. Mainly melodic guitar oriented hard rock. I also like Blues, a lot of the 80's new wave stuff, Seattle grunge, Fusion, Flamenco guitar, Spanish and Mediterranean music. I can't stand rap and I'm not a big fan of Country. Reggae is ok in limited doses, and I'm not real fond of so called "Nu Metal" although groups like MuDvAyNe and Disturbed are pretty cool.
The Hardrock/Heavy Metal I like the best is basically 70's, 80's 90's etc. heavy metal like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, UFO, KISS, early Van Halen, Ted Nugent and AC/DC (many of which are still putting out great stuff and are still relevant today) and the type generally referred to as NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal)like MSG, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard etc. Although despite the name it was'nt all British, for example Y&T, Dokken, Ratt, Van Halen, Twisted Sister etc.
I think alot of the Heavy Metal after that was pretty lame. I have really tried to like Metallica but I just can't and their later stuff like St Anger is un-listenable to me. A lot of people think Kirk Hammet is a great guitarist but I think his solos with very few exceptions have no structure or melody. I can't stand groups like Motley Crue. The only one with talent was Tommy Lee. Mick Mars is one of the most feminine sounding guitarists that I have ever heard and Vince Neal has a lousy vocal tone and sings off pitch. I hate all that 80's Glam crap like Poison(uugh), Warrent, Faster Pussycat and all those other make-up, lipstick and hairspray posers. To me the focus on (a really gay) image was a cover for bad musicianship and lack of talent. And no, I am not a homophobe or have a problem with gay people. I mentioned the gay image in a purely analytical way. I saw Motley Crue, Poison (uugh) and others at the Troubadour in Hollywood before they were signed and they were a joke. I'd be surprised if they actually tuned their own guitars. I also had the misfortune to have to endure Motley Crue's awful set at the Us Festival
Some of the newer bands that I like are Lacuna Coil (one of my favorites actually), Disturbed, In This Moment, Krypteria, MuDvAyNe, OT3P, Killswitch Engage and stuff like that. I'm definitely not one of those people that is stuck on the music I grew up with. I like some of it but I also like to keep current.
As far as art and literature go, my tastes lean toward the dark, morbid, evil, stark, surreal, lonely, cold, horrific, erotic, nasty, disturbing, dangerously psychotic, diseased, violent, brooding, gothic, leering, wicked and deranged elements. (no really, I'm a nice guy!) The Hellraiser movies and Clive Barker novels I think have the greatest combination of these elements of any movies and books that I have ever seen and read. I totally immerse myself and enjoy them immensely.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

First lets start with who I DON'T want to meet:

All the "I'm new to MySpace and want to meet people" girls that have like 2 sexy pictures and almost no info that send a friends request saying they like your profile (that they didn't read). Then when you add them you get bulletins to check out their (so called) free webcam site (that requires a credit card number). I am not interested in you so don't bother!!

I also don't want the drive by self promoters that just want to get on my list with absolutely no intention of ever having anything to do with me and never visiting my page again.

My main reason for having this page is to interact, share and learn with people that have similar interests. I don't mind helping promote something I like, but if I like it chances are we have something in common. So stop in and say hi now and then. I do!!

Now for the people I would like to meet:

Michael Schenker, oh I have, Dave Meniketti, oh I have, Cristina Scabbia (my dream girl!!), Bill Gates, James Woods, Ed Norton, Eddie Van Halen, AC/DC, Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell, John Malkovich, Anne & Nancy Wilson, John Sykes, Chris Cornell, Stuart Hamm, SRV, Michael Savage, Tom Leykis, George Lynch, Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Jeff Watson, Grahm Bonnet, Benecio Del Toro, Uli Jon Roth, Johnny Dep, Steve Buscemi, Robert Di Niro, Joe Pesci, Rik Ocasek, Harvey Keitel, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, Quinten Tarentino, Mike Judge, Dexter Holland and YOU!! Just to name a few.
