The Congress

We're a band called The Congress, a fusion of traditional ska, 2 tone, and neo-swing. We started back May 2006 at Villa Angela subdivision when we had a small meeting. Ramon (vocalist) and Robby (percussions) of The Mothel Vampire 69 talked about forming another ska band, inspired by Tatang Hans Rufen who was their current guitarist at that time in Mothel Vampire 69, and was their mentor in Ska. After some small talk, Marco (lead guitarist also from mothel) decided to join the band together with Daryll (Rythm guitars). Lee (percussions) was added up as a percussionist. Soon after that, we scheduled for practice together with the old bassist Dondi (Mothel vampire 69) and Mickeyboi (drummer of Left Overs). The first gig was in C5E together with Cebu's reggae band "Domestic Grass." After a few gigs and months of drought without gigs the band, was falling apart and had to change lineups for the bassist was leaving for work and the drummer concentrated on his other band. While there was nothing left to hang on Ramon contacted Cyrus (former keyboards of sideska) and was talked over in joining the band as the bass together with Ashford (drummer). After a few practices the band added up Pam (a gorgeous beautiful keyboardist) to put some spice to the ska music, and by asking some friends from the U-Band (univeristy band) we added up the horny boys sections which composed by Gico and Vaughn in producing the final current lineup of the band "The Congress".
