It's All About Me

About Me

I grew up in Liverpool, New York - a suburb outside of Syracuse, which is statistically the snowiest city in the country! After high school, I went to Niagara University where I earned a degree in secondary English education. Then I got a master's in communications and theatre from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In 2004, I decided that 25 years in central and western New York had been more than enough! I packed up my things and headed down to Nashville, Tennessee. I literally packed up a U-Haul and just came down. I didn't even have a place to live! But I managed to find a place and I have been living here ever since. I am currently teaching reading at a local middle school while pursuing my greater life ambitions.During the summer 2006, I made a decision that changed my life. I took a music business class at TSU, ran by Mark East. According to Mark, he saw something special with me and offered to work with me to help get my music career started. On February 21, 2007, I signed my recording contract with Mark's label, Active-Entertainment. (See the link under my top friends) Through Active, I've not only had the opportunity to pursue rock music, but I also get to cater to some of my other passions: acting, writing, voice-overs, and even some art.I am currently a voice student at Belmont University, studying under Stephanie Adlington.Music has always been a big part of my life. I'm definitely an ecclectic. I love music of all genres. I'm a die hard fan of 80's new wave music. Country, classic rock, alternative, pop, rock-n-roll...I love it all! My original plan had been to come down here and pursue country music. But then I decided not to limit myself. I guess the best way to define what I do is accoustic rock. Is it any good? You check it out and tell me!My good friend, Katie, wrote "Yesterday" and "I Don't Want to Care". She wrote the music and I wrote the lyrics for "Overcome Your Past"

Almost Enough

This is just the start of a new song that came to be in the shower this evening. (I swear I do my best thinking in the shower!) I sort of have a melody in mind for it. I am still working on a second v...

When Change Must Come

I wrote these lyrics for 2 reasons. The first being that a very good friend of mine recently had a baby girl. He is not with the mother and he was telling me how much the idea of another man ever bein...

Good Times

OK everyone says my songs need to be a little more upbeat and not so depressing. So here's some lighter lyrics that were actually inspired by my good friend Tripp. "Good Times" is his catch phrase and...

Time

*I actually want to put some kind of intro on this song so that the listener initally thinks the song is going to be about cherising the moments you have with someone because life goes by too fast, o...

Bill's Song

*I just want to start off by saying that these are my most misunderstood lyrics. It's hard to tell without music to go with them, but I actually don't mean for this to be a sad song at all. I actually...

Abandon

*This song is actually about how my doctor found some abnormal cells and recommended I get a biopsy, as it might be cancer. I was scared to to death. (FYI, everything turned out just fine!) But this s...
