"Impaler" promo pic
I'm a former musician, ( Iron Fist, Impaler ) now a full-time working stiff. During a routine physical a few years ago, I learned that all those years of playing LOUD rock & roll without any kind of hearing protection took a major toll on my old ear drums. To prevent any further damage, I tried rehearsing with earplugs in, but they so drastically changed what I was hearing while playing, that I ripped them out of my ears, yelled a 4 letter word, and threw the stupid things across the room. It turns out that the "damaging frequencies" that earplugs filter out, were the ones that I really liked to hear comming out of my bass stack. Turning down the volume was not an option. I needed to hear AND feel each and every note that I played. I had to choose between my 2 loves: Play music, or hear music. That decision took awhile. It was two and a half years between that audiology test, and my final performance with Impaler.
I am currently employed as a "facilities maintenance worker" in Minneapolis, and working behind the scenes for Impaler, building props, and trying to keep Dr. Corpse from bludgeoning Mr. Lindsey with a steel folding chair.
