About Me

Stop shaving now! Stop the war in Iraq!
Special thanks to Ben for our new logo! We love you Ben! :)~In the 60's and 70's, men of the counterculture in the United States who opposed the Vietnam War grew out their beards as a sign of protest. It's 2008, and we've been in Iraq for 5 years with no end in sight. It's time for a new generation to express an outward symbol of protest to the killing in the Middle East.Growing a beard is also a symbol of manhood in some cultures and faiths including Islam and Judaism. Christianity has Jesus as the premiere example of a bearded man advocating a path of peace. By taking this step, you are declaring solidarity with peoples of all faiths around the world, including the one the American leaders would label our 'enemy'.Tell them they're wrong. Stop shaving now! Why? Because it is something that you can do that you can't hide. You have an outward symbol of your disagreement with the Bush administration. Every time someone asks why you are growing your beard in (and oh yes, they will) you have to tell them the truth. Spread the word. Send the message.Women - We need your support! Please post your comments of support below for the beardy boys. We need your help to stay strong against the naysayers, especially in cultures that are antagonistic towards men with beards. So drop us a word of encouragement, and don't be afraid of the beardy guys when you meet them. Give them a hug, they probably need it. And bearded men are renowned for being warm and cuddly, so you will benefit too!You can also get a t-shirt, or join our sister organization!

You asked for it, you got it. Proceeds will go to a worthy cause or causes. We're in the process of choosing beneficiaries, but expect it will be a 50/50 split with 1/2 going to a U.S. Veterans cause and the other going to an Iraqi humanitarian cause.
