When asked, what does it take for Dallas to be heard? Former artist turned promoter Kuwn-Dalini has invented the answer. In his days of being an artist and knowing the struggles of searching for a place to perform with his group, Kuwn knows first hand how difficult it can be. So he transformed himself by stepping out of the life of an artist and into that of a promoter. With the no platform to perform experiences under his belt, Kuwn ventured out and founded a movement to help independent artists market themselves in the Dallas area. In 2003 Mr. Dalini coined Metro Muzik, “It’s not a company, it’s a movement."Kuwn has made a commitment to standing true to his words, “Nothing like what we do can be found outside of the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. If you are interested in being a professional in the music industry and not just a so called artist, then this is where your start begins." Kuwn has gained the attention of several national acts through showcases, such as: Capadonna, U-God, Chyna Whyte, Scarface and The Product, Slim Thug, Trae of G-Maab/Rap-A-Lot, and even the entire WHUT IT DEW FAMILY; Magno, Chalie Boy, Ryno, Bavu Blakes and DJ Rapid Ric. Working steady in the growth of his movement, Kuwn has taken his vision to new heights by incorporating the idea of joining the forces of promoters, artists and producers in new ways. This idea is not only innovative, but most importantly it’s encouraging to those artist that have been looking to gain insight in the music industry without the weight of having major financial backing.As he frees the voices of Dallas and Fort Worth's underground circuit, Kuwn’s main goal is to build a respected platform that will allow the aspiring artist of the metroplex and beyond to be welcomed into the mainstream of the music industry. Currently, Kuwn continues to promote events for independent artists at two well known venues twice a week. I guess Kuwn is a firm believer in, “one monkey don’t stop no show†as he strives to add Dallas/Ft. Worth to the map!
