My name is Irving Safdieh and this is my band, Hello Dear.
From May '03 until September '06, I fronted a band called The Perfect Mistake. In the three years I shared with The Perfect Mistake, I was fortunate enough to have played over a hundred shows, record two albums, tour, and meet thousands of new people. The time spent with The Perfect Mistake was a vital element in my growth, both musically and mentally. However, along the way, internal conflicts within The Perfect Mistake began to arise. I no longer felt that we were all seeing eye to eye on our goals and how we planned to achieve those goals. In addition to that, having not been able to write a single song since March '06, I felt that I had hit a wall, which was something I could not explain nor overcome. I knew that the reasons lied deeper than just a creative drought. It was at that point I realized The Perfect Mistake was no longer something I could continue.
On September 7, 2006, I parted ways with The Perfect Mistake. It was the
hardest decision I had ever made, but I knew it was something that had to be done.
This leads me to the present, my rebirth, or better put, Hello Dear. Having played every string, hit every drum and sung every breath on these new demos, I am now feeling an enthusiasm I haven't felt since the conception of my last project. The future is wide open and I can not wait to begin the journey. For the next few months, I will be posting every demo recorded for your listening pleasure, scrutiny and everything in between. Ultimately, this will lead me to studio recordings, tentatively planned for Spring '07. All news and updates will be found on this page until further notice.
