Music is meant to express, what lies beyond music.

About Me

Michael Nix started his singing career with a cappella music. After many years of singing with a Pop a cappella group called "Safer Six", he started to perform as a solo artist accompanied by a band (piano, bass, drums). Supported by a loop station, which is a live recording item, he manages to sing his own background voices while performing with the band. Some songs he even builds up only by using the loop station, performing a cappella alone.
Michael grew up in an environment, which gives a great deal of attention to the humanities and natural sciences, but in which there's no concept of how to have a good life as a musician. For this reason he studied pharmacy for many years, but his interest in and love of music has never lessened. He (co-)founded the a cappella group "Safer Six", which became his musical playground. Without any great expectations apart from having fun with singing, their naïve audacity above all, which made them rehearse intensively, brought them on stage very soon. By doing what they loved the most, doors opened themselves to many other performing opportunities, that they had never dreamed of as possibilities. They have performed for more than seven years and became rather famous and popular among Austria’s a cappella audiences. As a result of success and the intense work required, each member had to re-establish his priorities and not all members did this in favour of the group. In 2006 Michael left his "musical family". Rehearsals, concert tours, CD recordings and productions and the work as an arranger let Michael grow as a musician. But only with time he's come to realize that music and singing would fulfil his life more than pharmacy and natural sciences. This is why he decided to follow his musical urges.
...This is what the song "Wasting Time" is about...
Michael does not only perform as a singer, he also teaches a lot of vocal pop groups and gospel choirs in Vienna.
In 2005 Michael worked together with Gerhard Bronner for the music of the current advertisment of "Der Standard", and recorded the song together with Safer Six and Amina Leitner.
