Against Seventy Two is a hybrid metal band formed in late 2001 in Lawton, Oklahoma. They are influenced by death metal, hardcore, progressive metal, and experimental music.

Some of the bands that inspire Against Seventy Two are: Zao, Rush, Circle Of Dust, Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Karnivool, Soulfly, As I Lay Dying, etc.

The music of Against 72 is dynamic, with brutal riffs shifting into melodic passages. Their lyrics delve into a variety of topics including spirituality, personal conflict, child abuse, and what it means to be alive in today's society.

Feels good to see a nowhere band from Lawton get that many plays, thanks to everyone that keeps spinning our music. We've cancelled a few shows and have decided to take a break. Apologies to the venue...
