Once upon a time, on an island somewhere between San Diego and Tahiti there came to be a group of rag tag musicians.
The Great Kahuna was found living in a Volcano. We don’t know how he got there and are afraid to ask. The volcano provided a tremendous amount of power, which he converted to electricity and sound.
Loco Moco is a native of the island; we think he is over 150 years old. Although a bit scary when you first see him, Loco is the spiritual leader of the band.
Riptide Spicoli and Bodhi Knoxville got caught in a Tsunami while surfing off the coast of Hawaii and landed on the island. Oops. Well, at least their surfboards survived!
Fantastic Freddie "Sea Turtle" crash landed his seaplane (the Sea Turtle). He has never been known for his sense of direction.
Cap'n Bill, always fancying himself a pirate, was lost at sea while piloting a ferry from Seattle to Vancouver.
Fender Bender was his mechanic.
No one knows where Renaldo Sausalito or Johnny Utah came from. They just appeared out of the blue one day.
While attempting to survive, knowing that they would most likely never be found, Cap'n Bill brought out his stack of 8 track tapes for entertainment. Problem was all Cap'n Bill had were old "beach band" tapes. The music was good, and it was something to do; so they divided up the parts and started practicing. After a time, they knew they had something special and if they were ever to be 'found', also knew that this was what they were meant to do. But before they could be 'discovered' they had to name the band. Something that would describe:
Where they were stranded (KAHUNA),
Where they lived (on the BEACH), and
What they liked to do…PARTY!
Hence...Kahuna Beach Party!
