A filmmaker that makes it happen. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Kai “FLYY KAI†Crawford was inspired by the films of Spike Lee to become a filmmaker. FLYY KAI directed and edited the documentary feature, Akon "The Journey", several commercials, and music videos for recording artists including AKON'S "LOCKED UP", PIT BULL'S "DAMNIT MAN", YUNG JOC'S "I KNOW YOU SEE IT" & "BOTTLE POPPIN", THE FEDERATION FT. SNOOP "HAPPY I MET YEW", GORILLA ZOE "HOOD FIGGA", T-PAIN'S "I'M SPRUNG", SHANICE'S "EVERY WOMAN DREAMS", CONSEQUENCE'S "CALLIN' ME", 8BALL & MJG ft. PROJECT PAT "RELAX & TAKE NOTES" and HUSH f/ NATE DOGG & EMINEM "HUSH IS COMING". While pursuing his BA in Mass Media Arts (Radio/TV/Film) at Clark Atlanta University, FLYY KAI worked as an intern at So So Def Recordings and LaFace Records. At So So Def, FLYY KAI served as the A&R assistant to BME Recording artist, LIL JON. With Lil Jon, he scouted for new talent at nightclubs and talent shows. It wasn’t until he started working in the Video Production Department at LaFace Records that he knew music videos were his niche, and from there he went on to pursue a career directing music videos. His video for Akon's "Locked Up" received an MTV 2005 VMA nomination for the MTV2 award.
