About Me

I've changed a lot. It's pretty awesome to not be a waste of a human life anymore. YEAH!.. Get your own badge One Tree Hill MySpace LayoutGet this widget!

My Interests

Music, Duke basketball, March Madness, reading! YEAH!, medicine, concerts, looking at pictures and avoiding ever ever being in any, movies, learning new languages and immersing myself in other cultures, the CUBS!, food from all over the world(especially really spicy food), numbers and math, meeting new people, endless conversation, skiing, my cutie pie doggies, and last but certainly not least: my one hour a week spent in front of the television sucked into the drama of one tree hill.

I'd like to meet:

Griffin House, Sarah McLachlan, and Susie Suh so I could congratulate them on making the best music ever. I mean really...ever.

Music:

Griffin House, Susie Suh, Sarah McLachlan, Travis, Tegan & Sara, Tyler Hilton, U2, Madeleine Peyroux, Patty Griffin, Teitur, Pink Floyd (80s), Tom Freund, Rachel Yamagata, Ani Difranco, Lizzie West, Stephen Fretwell, Bettie Serveert, Barenaked Ladies, Josh Ritter, Nick Drake, Tristan Prettyman, Citizen Cope, Amy Winehouse, Aimee Mann, Bryan Greenberg, The Cardigans, Belle & Sebastian, Jeff Buckley, Simon & Garfunkel, The Constantines, Plain White T's, The Decemberists, Coldplay, Josh Kelley, Chris Rice, Cat Stevens(and his alter ego Yusuf), Josh Groban, James Blunt, Chris Isaak, James Taylor, Matt White, Joni Mitchell, Timmy Curran, Norah Jones, Sufjan Stevens, Duncan Sheik, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, Evan & Jaron, Melee, No Doubt, Colin Hay, Ben Thomas, Kalai, Nelson Rangell, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, The Weepies, The Wreckers, Ryan Adams, The Fray, Seal, Michael Buble, David Gray, Long-View, Descendents, Pete Schmidt, Pete Yorn, Nightmare of You, Damien Rice, Mat Kearney, Bethany Joy Galleotti, The 88, Straylight Run, Lovedrug, Devics, Kings of Convenience, John Mayer, Sting, Eric Clapton, Matt Ryczek, Ari Hest, 8mm, BBMak, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, Howie Day, Five For Fighting, Greg Laswell, Ray LaMontagne, Matt Wertz, Nickel Creek...you know, what the cool kids listen to.

Movies:

American History X. Donnie Darko. October Sky. American Beaty. Love Actually. Mean Girls. Seven. Fight Club. Memento. Kill Bill. Garden State. Cruel Intentions. Crash. Good Burger. Old Film Noir movies rock, I just watched Too Late For Tears today...gotta love 'em...mostly dramas though, that's what i watch, dramas and indie films. and stupid teen comedies like she's the man and mean girls. Adam & Steve is the funniest movie ever. Fellini, Tarkovsky, Fritz Lang, Buster Keaton, Chaplin, Lean, Hitchcock, Chabrol, Godard, Renoir, Truffaut, Tati, Resnais, Murnau, Antonioni, Kurosawa, Bergman, and Kazan...they sure know how to do it...

Television:

The only show I watch religiously is OTH (I don't think Duke basketball counts). I was a crazy FRIENDS at one time and now I own the whole series and watch it constantly. I love love LOVE Scrubs, Monk, and Nip/Tuck. When I was in middle school and high school I had a thing for the awesomeness of The Facts of Life, Family Ties, and the Cosby Show (hands down, the greatest shows of the 80s). Desperate Housewives and The Colbert Report are absolutely lovely(but for very different reasons)! The Ali G Show and Girls Behaving Badly are by far the best "same characters playing different people in kind of sketch comedy/prank show" ever made. That 70s Show was pretty funny in the first few seasons. Dawson's Creek laid the foundation for OTH. Twin Peaks was very thought-provoking, I love David Lynch.

Books:

Ayn Rand, Dostoevsky, Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, Les Miserables, 1984, H.G. Wells, Picture of Dorian Gray, Lolita, Rebecca, Philip K. Dick, In the Company of Strangers. Books by my man Tim Dorsey. Carl Hiaasen's pretty sweet. Books about medicine and math. Occasionally the politically biased book on how America sucks, and things on communism, fascism, corrupt america, war, affirmative action, racial stereotypes, and various other political agendas. etc... Occasionally the book on the vickor and her flaming loins...if you catch my drift.

Heroes:

I'd rather not say, but she got me through some pretty dark days. Thank you, my unsung hero.
