We are Family

WATCH THE TRAILER! .. width="425" height="350" ..This project deals with one of the most important films to ever be brought to the screen in regards to black culture and the black family since "The Color Purple". Entitled "We Are Family" the film touches on many taboo subjects that have yet to be covered in it's fullness in the history of past or current cinema. The story is based on some real life situations and deals with the harsh reality of the effect that alcohol has on a single father from a modern black American family from Michigan Detroit. Over a twenty year period done in flashbacks we see how five young siblings learn to deal with the enduring effects that their alcoholic and abusive father has on their past and current lives. Each character is presented as a symbol of the many diverse and real life dynamics that are present in today's society. The film also focuses on drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse and how the family comes to terms with those demons and begin the healing process for their lives to turn around and find empowerment. Currently we have attached: Vida Guerra, Kiko Ellsworth, Allen Maldonado, Choice Skinner, and Rochelle Aytes of "Madea's Family Reunion" . Destenee will be doing her film debut as a supporting role!!! Stevie Wonder and George Funky Brown (Kool and the Gang) have proposed songs for the soundtrack. Ted Greenberg 2003 Grammy Award Winner for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" has also come onboard to do the Scoring on this powerful film. A film of this magnitude will touch lives and heal people not just in America, but all over the world.
