Influences: Everything I encounter for sure. However, one of the greatest influences in my piano playing is the one and only Tom Decker. He spent over 55 years in the music industry and became one of the greatest piano players to live. He has played along side Roger Williams, been on over 3500 radio and televisions shows, been deemed the man with a hundred fingers, played for many studio gigs, played with some of the greatest names in jazz history, is regarded highly by Hal Lenard, developed the first and now most advanced automated teaching systems for piano (The Pianostick), is a world-class drummer, normally plays bass pedals in his performances, can play any one song with his left hand in one time, play another song with his right hand in another time, and play say a progressive jazz bass with his foot, all at the same time. He is a master of tenths, boom-chucks, presenting brass and string sounds with the piano, and so much more.My mother Rose Decker was a world class ragtime pianist. She also was a first chair violinist in several orchestras.I have spent my life playing, but never really pushed the professional aspect of music for the sake of my family, and other professions. Most of the people I know who are good and went pro spend 48-50 weeks on the road a year, and never see their loved ones.So through myspace maybe I will get a chance to put something nice together for everyone to share.Best wishes, Maxwell Decker
