ANTONIO DE ANGELIS (born in Chieti 5th February 1962): piano – arrangements. De Angelis took a degree with distinction in Piano from the Academy of Music in Florence under the guide of Lucia Passaglia and a degree in Jazz Music from the Academy of Music in L’Aquila. He is a composer, expert in arrangements and transcriptions in classical music, jazz and pop music; he founded and directed the Intro Big Band. In 2001 he recorded the CD “Photos†with ThreeTONO, released by the label Sculture d’Aria, arranging and composing 8 out the 11 pieces of the entire work. He composed music which ranges from small bands to orchestra for Flautissimo Festival in 2001, 2003 and 2007 and he publishes periodically with Riverberi Sonori Editions (Rome). He collaborated with worldwide known musicians like Persichilli, Guiot, Sello, Oliva Fromanger, Pahud. His compositions and re-elaborations are performed in the major festivals of the world: particularly in Japan, America, France, Spain and Germany. His music is part of the repertory that musicians must play to take the first and second level of degree in the Academies of Music in Italy. Antonio De Angelis was finalist at the VII International Jazz Competition in Sassari and the IV National Competition “Pippo Barzizza†for pop music arrangements and compositions in 2003. In 2005 he recorded “Swingin’ Mozartâ€, re-adapting Mozart’s most famous works in a modern style. In 2006 De Angelis composed and recorded “CANTATA DI PASQUA†for white voices choir, strings quartet and jazz ensemble: it is taken from the musical comedy “EMMAUSâ€, based on the text written by Sandro Bernabei. He was among the finalists of the “International Music Tournament†in the section dedicated to Jazz Music (2006) and he won the first edition of the “Roland Piano Festival†in 2006. In 2007 he released “BELLA DONNAâ€, in which he also appears as singer and composer of all songs (Jazz and Pop style) and “SWINGIN’ CHRISTMASâ€, songs taken from Christmas traditional repertory re-arranged for strings quartet. The work was attached to the newspaper “LA CRONACA D’ABRUZZO†as Christmas gadget from 15th to 30th December 2007. Antonio De Angelis teaches jazz piano at the Scuola Civica of San Giovanni Teatino (Ch) and European Musicians Institute of Gianfranco Continenza (PE).
MARCO SALVATORE (Born in Milan 9th April 1971): Saxophones. He took a diploma in Clarinet from the “Luisa d’Annunzio†Acadey of Music in Pescara under the guide of Mr. Cardarelli in 1992. He attended many international courses in orchestral and instrumental improvement from the Musical Association “Fedele Fernaroliâ€. He also attended courses at C.P.M SIENA JAZZ, winning one award. In 1999 he took a diploma in Jazz music from the Academy of Music “Alfredo Casella†in L’Aquila. He appeared and collaborated with famous Jazz performers like Gianluigi Trovesi, Bruno Tommaso, Mauro Negri, Massimo Morricone, Maurizio Rolli, Angelo Canelli, Roberto Desiderio, Marco Di Battista, Samuele Garofoli, Gianluca Esposito, Max Ionata, Ivano Sabatini, Nicola Cordisco and Mauro Gallo. He appears in works like “BLU†(Alessandro Cavallucci), “IL CANTO DEL MARE†(Stefano Barbati) and “OCTOGON†by the well-know composer Walter Gaeta.
NICOLA DI CAMILLO (born in Lanciano, 4th September 1978): bass and bouble-bass. He took a summa cum laude diploma in double-bass with Mr. Rutigliano. He attended many master classes with Bocini, Ettorre and Sciancalepore. He performs with the “Orchestra del Teatro Marrucinoâ€, the “Musical Academy of Pescaraâ€, the “Sinfonia Abruzzeseâ€, “Filarmonica Abruzzeseâ€, and the “DIMI Orchestraâ€. In December 2005 he collaborated as Tutor with “Progetto Palcoscenico†by M. Zuccarini. He played with “Insieme Musicale Armoniaâ€, “I Cantori di Ortona†and the “Orchestra da Camera Città di Luceraâ€, giving an important and original contribution to the great arrangements of the famour guitarist R. Fabbri. He appears with “Camerata Frentana†in which he ranges from the Baroque to the 20th century music and Theatre operetta. Since 2000 he is a double-bass performer in the band “Cuarteto del Angel†with Chiacchiaretta, Colacioppo and Angelucci. With this quartet he had great success performing in an European tour, especially in Russia and Hungary in 2004 and again in Hungary and Germany in 2005. A CD is about to be released by the “Cuarteto del Angel†by the Phoenix Classics of G. Bettin. Di Camillo has also studied Jazz, Funky, Pop, Blues and more. He took a degree with distinction from the University of Music with Moriconi, Siniscalco, Pirozzi and Gullotto for the double-bass; as the Jazz harmony arrangement and improvisation his teachers were Fedeli and Avena. With the trio band “Usa e Jezza†he had exceptional results at Barga Jazz 2004. He attended courses with Tommaso, Spadoni, Morioni, De Idda, and Satta, with whom he performed at the Christmas Concert 2005 together with Cherill Nykerson. As far as the pop music is concerned he played with Gilda Giuliani, Antonella Ruggero and Drupi. He teaches privately and by public schools. In 2007 he recorded the CD “BELLA DONNA†with Antonio De Angelis.
DAVIDE LA ROVERE (born in Chieti, 3rd July 1975): drums and percussions In 2001 he took a degree with distinction from the Luisa d’Annunzio Academy of Music in Pescara; his teachers were Antonio Bonomo and Clara Perra. In the same year he attended the Umbria Jazz courses with Gary Burton, Winton Marsalis, Eric Reed, James Moody. Since 2002 he teaches percussions at public schools. With the pianist Loris Ricci he is the leader of the contemporary jazz band called “Dolddrums Trioâ€, with whom he recorded 2 CDs: “The LORD OF RINGS†(with Tino Tracanna and the virtuoso guitarist Antonio Onorato) and “BACK TO THE SWEET AGEâ€. From 2003 to 2006 he performed intensely in Italy and Spain with Marco Di Fulvio’s Trio, recording the album “Mediterranean Flavoursâ€. In 2004, with Pierpaolo Pecoriello (saxophone) he formed the band “Four in one quartetâ€, performing in several Jazz festivals with Marco Tamburrini. He works for the Marrucino theatre’s Laboratory and he recorded the CD “BELLADONNA†with Antonio De Angelis.
