About Me

Hi and thanks for stopping by my page.

I'm a bicycle rider from Holland. At the age of 15 I bought my first bike and started to compete in triathlon together with some friend from school. After 10 years (leaning against the top) I found that I couldn't make progress anymore. Swimming was the worst part and cycling I enjoyed the best. I decided to put all the emphases on the bike and made progress. I must say I'm at best climbing mountains and won some rides in the Italian and France Alpes.

My hometown is called Enkhuizen, which is a beautiful little town in the northern part of Holland. It is situated at the IJsel Lake . The center of the town is old and has a beautiful harbour. I live here together with my girlfriend Judith and our three year old daughter Kayleigh.

Together with my family we enjoy to travel, hike and bike. As for the music, I love to visit rock shows and listen to the DVD-A 5.1 surround sound of good rock music. Countries we’ ve visited: United States(3 trips - California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Kentucky), Scotland, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, UK, Austria. If you also love to ride your bike, best places to go are the France and Italian Alps.

Teams that I support: Ajax (the real football), The Nashville Predators. I love Ice Hockey. Two years ago we visited my brother in Paris TN and went to see a game in Nashville. It was a great game and I really liked the crowd.

As for my music interests, just check out my friends list (mostly progressive rock!). Top favourites: “Porcupine Tree”, “Riverside”, “Marillion”. Favourite song at the moment is “Arriving somewhere, but not here” by Porcupine Tree.

A splendid look on Monte Zoncolan.

After jet another heroic journey Simoni wins, Di Luca is still in the pink jersey. The Monte Zoncolan has never been climbed from this side. It is said to be the toughest mountain there is to climb. The steepness goes up to 22%. Not for nothing it is also known as "The gate to Hell". Certainly one mountain I have put on my list still to climb!

Danilo Di luca has won the Giro!

And if you're ever in the opportunity to visit one of their shows, I can say it would be worth your while. Mariusz Duda is one hell of a bass player with a fantastic voice.
