About Me

Wassup to all. Thank you for visiting the MySpace home of Healing Stream United Church of Christ! This church was established with the dual purposes of getting people in relationship with Jesus Christ through dynamic worship, prayer, and study, and to be a voice of Christ inspired justice for all those who are too often overlooked in a dominant church culture that is obsessed with prosperity and law inspired piety.
As a radically inclusive, justice focused church we are here to meet the spiritual and physical needs of marginalized persons and communities. Marginalized communities today include: racial/ethnic minorities, persons with mental health issues, women, single parents, ex-offenders, incarcerated persons, thugs, gays, lesbians, transgendered, hip hop generation, the poor, the homeless, the elderly, youth, legal immigrants, undocumented immigrants, and persons with addictions to name a few.
Jesus was born into, lived among, and ministered to the marginalized of His day. We follow His example giving a word of love and welcome to all. What and who we don't understand, we pray about. But we love while we pray and trust God to help our understanding.
We would love to be in regular fellowship with you, as we build a multi-cultural ministry of excellence focused on meeting the spiritual, physical, and social needs of all those on the margins and all those with a passion for healing of the mind, body, spirit and community. Sundays at 9:15 AM - Overcomers Breakfast and Food Bank Program
Sundays at 10:30 AM - Sunday Study
Wednesdays at 7:00 PM - Spiritual Life Institute
1st Saturdays - Break the Cycle Ex-Offenders group

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is interested in developing their spiritual selves, especially those who have been burned by churches, don't feel that church is really relevent to real life, or can't even understand church cuz the church folk have their own language the rest of the world just doesn't understand. We can relate.
Do you ever think, "I love Jesus, but those church people drive me crazy."
