JEFF WOOD IS A SINGER-SONGWRITER WITH A SOULFUL VOICE AND A STYLE THAT DRAWS FROM A VARIETY OF GENRES. THE RESULT IS A BLENDING OF COUNTRY THEMES, BLUESY MELODIES, AND ACOUSTIC ROCK GROOVES.
GROWING UP ON THE GULF COAST OF FLORIDA, JEFF BEGAN WRITING AT NINE YEARS OF AGE, INSPIRED BY THE LIKES OF STEVIE WONDER, HALL & OATES, AND THE EAGLES. SINCE THEN, HE HAS WORKED HARD TO DEVELOP BOTH AS A WRITER AND A PERFORMER. HE HAS FRONTED NUMEROUS BANDS, FROM SOUTHERN ROCK TO POP TO JAZZ-INFLUENCED R&B, BUT HIS LOVE FOR THE INTIMACY OF THE "WRITERS’ NIGHT" CROWD HAS HIM APPEARING REGULARLY IN MANY NASHVILLE AREA SINGER-SONGWRITER CLUBS, INCLUDING THE BLUEBIRD, CROSSROADS, AND THE FRENCH QUARTER CAFÉ.
HAVING MADE THE MOVE TO NASHVILLE IN 1997, JEFF BEGAN COLLABORATING WITH SEVERAL COUNTRY WRITERS, FUSING HIS UNIQUE STYLE WITH THE NASHVILLE SOUND. AS WRITER AND PRODUCER, JEFF HAS A NUMBER OF POP/GOSPEL CUTS TO HIS CREDIT. HIS MOST RECENT IS THE SECOND SINGLE FROM COUNTRY SUPERGROUP SAWYER BROWN'S LATEST CD, “KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF.†THE SONG TITLED, “THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND,†CO-WRITTEN BY DEAN CHANCE, TERESA JOHNSTON AND STEVE MILLER, HAS ALREADY MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT AMONG FANS NATIONWIDE AND WAS NOMINATED FOR A 2005 GMA AWARD.
JEFF'S DEBUT CD IS DUE OUT IN JUNE 2007 ON THE SOUTHBENT MUSIC LABEL.
