About Me

Woody Allen said “80% of success is showing up.” And so for the past year, Jeff Caylor has been showing up for his own life. “We can convince ourselves that the best times are just around the corner or we can begin to live right now,” Caylor says.

Moving from Colorado to Hong Kong may seem like career suicide for an independent singer-songwriter hoping to make a splash on the music scene but this Indiana native believes it will only make him a more compelling artist. “I want to make art that inspires people to live beyond themselves and to make decisions that impact an ever-widening sphere of influence. I want to challenge people’s ideas about what the next thing they should do in life is. Too often we put ourselves in one category and then we put other people who live abroad or change the world in another category.”

During this season in Asia, Jeff Caylor is releasing What Birds Dream, his 2nd independent album in 2 years. His first effort, Okay, was lauded by press outlets in the US and the UK. TheAlbumProject.net named Caylor the Best Unsigned Artist of 2007 and Christianity Today ranked Caylor’s debut CD number 5 in its Best Albums of 2007 list. The album sold hundreds of physical units and thousands of digital downloads, in spite of the fact that Caylor’s time on the road has come in limited spurts. “I love to play live and I’m still doing it on a regular basis in Hong Kong, but I’m trying to be selective about where I spend my time right now. I put a lot of effort into my online presence and creative ways for people around the world to discover my music and interact with me.” Several of Caylor’s performances in venues from Colorado to Hong Kong have been broadcast live using streaming services such as Ustream.tv and Qik.com.

What Birds Dream is an eclectic group of songs ranging from acoustic soul to up-tempo rock, peppered with Caylor’s signature singer-songwriter honesty. The 12-song project will be available internationally June 2, 2009. For review samples, email press (at) jeffcaylor.com.
