Willing and Able.
Such a common phrase, right? I've heard it so many times, but it's never meant as much as it does to me now. About a year ago, my Pastor was speaking about "finding and fulfilling your purpose". He said something I will never forget. "God isn't looking for the able, He's looking for the available." The next day as I reflected on my Pastor's rather simple statement, God spoke to my heart, "If you are willing, I am able." Wow, what a concept! (Phil 4:13)
Now let's be honest. Without God as our Savior, we can do all kinds of things. I could still dress myself, drive a car, have a job, have friends, I could even sing and write songs. The difference is this-- when we acknowledge Him as our source of strength and rely on His power, He is able to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Eph. 3:20) Without Him, I can sing. With Him, I can minister. I choose the latter.
I was born in Alaska, raised in Santa Cruz, California. My real last name is Vajdos (rhymes with "midas") and I am more commonly known as "Stan's sister" in my hometown (yes, my brother is that cool). When I was 17, I felt that God was calling me to Nashville to pursue songwriting. Two years later, I started making the journey... On my way to Nashville, I stopped in my dad's hometown of Ganado, Texas to record some demos. Weeks turned into (many) months, and in 2003 I arrived in Music City, Tennessee.
For the past several years, I have been steeped in the art of song. Writing is my first love, but singing is definitely a close second... My goal is to honor God with the gift He's given me- wherever, whatever that leads to. I'm currently a worship leader for the youth at my church, and I'm honored and blessed to be involved in what God is doing there.
As for recording... I put up a few older songs (in their purest form) that may or may not be on the EP I'm working on. Thanks for stopping by and reading my novel :)
