Act Forward

In the beginning of 2005 Steyn and Anton met each other in a lokal bar. Steyn told Anton that he talked with Bjorn a while a go about starting a band. That day Anton and Steyn found out they shared the same interest in hardcore and punk music. A few weeks later Anton met up with Bjorn at a Bad Religion concert and within a few words the beginning of a band was a fact. Steyn already played drums for 10 years, Bjorn also had experience with playing bass in his former band the Deadbeats so Anton picked up the guitar to start somthing going on. Anton and Steyn started to practice with covers of Agnostic Front and Madball, bands they still like a lot. In April 2005 they started to practice in Helmond. At that time Paul tried to do the vocals in the band but shortly after a few weeks Paul quit because his interest in Hardcore wasn..t as big as he thought. Steyn Anton and Bjorn kept writing songs to move forward. In that periode they started to think about a name for the band. It had to be fast full of energy and straight up positive just like the music they wrote. After putting some words on paper the name Act Forward was a fact. In the summer of 2005 they decided to give a first try out in the backyard of Anton his home. The first plan was to let Bjorn do the vocals and play bass at the same time and getting Rob ( singer from Uplifted) to sing some covers with them. They called Rob and he came to practice the covers but after one rehearsel Rob decided to stay and help them out to get Act Forward on the map and on the stage. In the beginnning Rob could combine his own band Uplifted and Act Forward without any problems. With Rob..s experience and the positive attitude of the band Act Forward began climbing the stage at the end of 2005. Everything went good till the summer of 2006. Rob couldn..t combine his band annymore with Act Forwrd so he decided to quit and play his last show with us in september 2006. We gave Rob a big thanks for everything he did for Act Forward. Now the band is in full progress with new vocalist Leroy. Also we record two songs in our rehearsel-room to add to our myspace-site. In the future we want to record some good quality music and bring out a demo. In the mean time...visit some shows of us to mosh, dive or drink a beer cuz that's what's hardcore/punk is all about, an outlet for everbody!!
