About Me

Too Broke for Sturgis (July 25-27, 2008) is Arizona's Premiere Biker and Motorcycle Rally, presented by ABATE of Arizona . Visit the Too Broke web site for details and pictures from past 'Too Brokes'.

ABATE of Arizona, Inc. is a non-profit motorcycle rights organization that is dedicated to freedom of the road for all motorcyclists. ABATE is a volunteer organization that fights discriminatory legislation aimed towards the motorcycling community. ABATE's position is that all motorcycle riders have the right to choose not only the machine that they ride, but also the riding gear that they choose to wear or not to wear (i.e., leathers, gloves, boots and helmets). ABATE promotes rider education for all motorcycle riders, and motorcycle awareness for all automobile drivers. ABATE needs the support of all motorcycle riders.

Please help the Motorcycle Rights Organizations in Arizona ( ABATE , MMA & the ACMC ) to prevent our Governments from restricting our ability to ride free. With your help, we can eliminate the emission testing of motorcycles in Arizona, fight our national-level battles with the EPA and NHTSA, and effectively watchdog the Arizona legislators who, on a yearly basis, have entertained the idea of introducing a mandatory helmet law in our state.

Support those who fight for your freedom on the road. You do not need to be a resident of Arizona, but for $20 measly dollars a year you will help a noble cause and you will get: A Membership patch, a Membership card and you will get 12 issues of our monthly publication 'The Masterlink' , once a month for a year.

My Interests

FREEDOM!

ABATE of Arizona is interested in many things.

We need a Right of Way bill introduced that would actually make it a crime to kill a biker with your cage. We need to eliminate emmissions testing of motorcycles in Arizona. We need to end discrimination by businesses and our government because of who we are and what we look like. We need to unite our brothers and sisters against a Federal Helmet Law We will lobby and educate the government and general public to promote motorcycling in a safe and positive image. We will endeavor to enlist the cooperation and participation of all organizations and individuals who share a similar interest in preserving our American tradition of freedom. We will involve ourselves in fund raising to achieve our goals.

I'd like to meet:

ARTISTS:

Von Dutch

http://www.vondutch.com/
The father of a personal friend, best remembered for the invention of the pinstripe on cars and motorcycles and innovative thinking.

Ed Roth

http://www.edroth.com/
The artist, bike builder, counter culture icon from days gone by... credited with Von Dutch as the creators of pinstriping. Father of " Rat Fink ", an icon of the 70's and still today.

This Brit builds some of the cleanest looking bobbers and old style bikes on the planet. Wish I had the cash to get one.

Paulie Jr. - The Teutels

http://www.orangecountychoppers.com
Let's face it... Jr. really makes the shop run. Sr. just blusters to try to maintain some kind of control. Hell, he's got to or they'd never been chosen by the Discovery Channel .

A legend. Rest in Peace, Larry.

Icons. Plain and simple - these guys have influenced 2 or 3 generations of musicians. The Davies brothers were touring the world at age 15... there is a rock 'n roll legend that tells the story of Dave Davies locking himself in a pay toilet stall at the venue of one of their early shows screaming that he wouldn't go onstage because he was too stressed out...

If you need an explanation, you've been living in a remote rainforest for the last 40+ years...
