SIC started as a project on the "Rock&Roll Highschool" in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, when Sven Janssens, Isaac Delahaye and Coen Janssen became friends because of their musical interests. They were the only metal-heads in school so they hooked up to talk about music, but mainly to drink beer.
They decided to form a band (which happens a lot when musicians get drunk) and SIC was born. Unfortunately there wasn't much time to invest in the band because they all played in other bands with heavy schedules. Sven was in Axamenta, Isaac in God Dethroned and Coen in Epica. So they kept on drinking and talking about it, but nothing really happened.
Things started rolling when Coen had to graduate from the "Rock&Roll Highschool". He decided to do a show with SIC because it would be fun! He started writing songs together with "partner in crime" Yves Huts (Epica) and that worked really well! Obviously Yves joined SIC on guitars. Now they needed a drummer and a singer to complete the line-up. The drummer was easy to find. Arien van Weesenbeek was in God Dethroned together with Isaac and he happened to be the beast we were looking for. SIC needed a vocalist with power and diversity in his voice and Tijs Vanneste (Oceans of Sadness) happened to have all the quality's they needed, so he became SIC's frontman.

They rehearsed their songs and added a few covers to complete the set for the gig in Nighttown, Rotterdam. During the show it felt like the band was already toghether for a few years. Everything went great and SIC smashed the crowd with their groove. The reactions were amazing. Everybody loved it and asked what would happen with this project. They asked for an album and more gigs and advised the band to continue working like this!!
So.... after a few beers, SIC decided to be a real band. This was not going to be easy because of the heavy schedules of the other bands the guys are in. But hey! It's worth a try, ain't it?
