Hi there, my name is Francis. I'm a 27 year old female from Vlijmen, Holland. I live together with my rocker Bas and sweet doggie "Femmie".
Starting as a merchandise girl was the beginning of my career in the music business. Before I got active in the musicbizz, I had a couple of totally other jobs.
In my first real job I was working as a secretary for an advertising agency. But after a year or 2, I got tired of sitting behind my desk, doing boring things all day, so I quit. After my job as a secretary I decided to do something with my entrepreneur diploma. So I became assistant shop manager in a fashion store for men and women. Besides the occasional activities (and buying a lot of clothes!), I took the lead of all personnel. I was responsible for the whole store together with the shop manager. In times of the shop managers absence I replaced him.
After a while I wanted to change course. No more 9 till 5 jobs and doing things that are not the things I ‘really’ want to do…
Making my hobby (music of course ;-) ) my job, that was (is) my new challenge. Studying was a long time ago, but I took the step to go to school again: Music Management – Business School.
In the meantime I was officially appointed as Tour Manager of the great band Xystus (www.myspace.com/xystusmusic), which I still am. It’s great to make sure that everything’s going as smoothly as possible for the band, when they are having a gig. My finest memory is the European tour I did (through Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland)with Epica & Xystus.
Now I'm in the school banks again.. As it happens, I study Speech Pathalogy at the paramedical high school! Perhaps you won’t see a direct link between music and Speech Pathalogy, but it’s certainly there. Speech Pathalogy (Logopedics) has everything to do with speech, language, voice and hearing. I want to focus myself on the “voice†part. My eventual aim is to get work as a vocal coach or give lessons on a conservatoire / musical academy. Also I want to give voice- and presentation trainings to actors, singers and profession participants.
I love to share my sparetime with my family, lovely boyfriend and dog. Furthermore I love to sing (I'm the backingvocalist of the great band Xystus), listen to music, be creative, watching good movies / TV, shopping, surfing on the internet & good food make me happy ;-)
