"Lucky Delucci were born in 2005 in Rhondda, South Wales when Josef and Daniel decided to experiment with new friends and new sounds to create, and following the recording of this ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ set of demos they’ve played a series of gigs around their home country including major venues in Cardiff. Lucky Delucci came a close second in a South Wales breakthrough Battle of the Bands competition and recently closed the first day at a Welsh Festival in Paris. So what of the famed Lucky Delucci sound? How to best convey the originality and disconcerting freshness of their sound? The band are unquestionably linked with the experimental, leftfield folk rock movement, but that conjures up all the wrong mental pictures and we fear to use that description because many readers will simply ‘switch off’. Tracks like ‘Voodoo’, ‘Down to the Apple Tree’ and the title track ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ are clever, experimental slip-sliding slices of joyous, quirky guitar music. Perfect for lazy days in the sunshine swipping cold cider at your favourite Summer festivals, Lucky Delucci have the lyrical sharpness and musical integrity to comfortably share a summer stage with indie-heroes of the Mystery Jets and Larrakin Love type. Easy going, inventive typically English tales of typically Welsh folk. Does that make sense? Make for their myspace and watch out for ‘em on the side stages at a festival near you. Lucky Delucci will bring delight to any Summer’s day." - Fuse Magazine - April, 2007.
