Artist Des Taylor is Inspired by "Real People" and capturing a moment that people relate to.
My Girl drawings are sassy, cool, Funky and desireable. Always leaving something to the imagination, My drawings reflect the power of the female form on a street level. My inspiration comes from girls and fashion of the street,50's Pin ups and cheesecake models, My friends ,the Comic book artists Bruce Timm and Jack Kirby and the great artists Toulouse Lautrec and Roy Lichenstien.

Through my work i have designed for or met the most unlikely people -Michael Jackson (my first ever client- talk about dropped in the deep end. Introduced him on stage too) Geri Halliwell, my second client , still owes me money, Arnold Schwarzenneger, Ray Parks( Darth Maul) Cilla Black (see below) Janet Jackson, Jack Nicholson, Britney Spears, Mark Dacascus (Kung fu star) Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Sisqo, Samantha Mumba, Melissa Messenger, but my crowning moment....meeting RONALDO in Nike Town. He was the best player on the planet then and i met him at his peak. Yeah!!

My Interests

When Des is not working he collects Comics, (obsessed with Batman/Superman) watches Brasilian Football,and monitors Anakin Skywalkers Journey to the dark side of the force in Star Wars. His only Vice..... He hates Arsenal with a passion. Love New York, i consider it my second home. Have a passion for photograghy and i am planning a few exhibitions next year.Love Betty Page and that whole burlesque look. 50's women had class. Loathe Ignorant people and newspaper critics. Who are they to criticise some ones work. Where are their films? "Pinche Cabrons"I love Eastern Philosophy, Greek Mythology and love chatting about Current affairs with people.

Creative humans. Constructive people.Anyone that is constructive. Writers, Filmakers, Artists. Also anyone that likes a beer and a chat. Superman- the world needs him.

Music:

Movie scores!!! Love them. I listen to them when i work. I come from a musical background playing Classical Guitar and the Bassoon in an Orchestra. Brother Darren is a Bass player touring with Courtney Pine and sister is a Concert Viola player. Apart from that i listen to anything else. All good music passes my ears.

Movies:

ALL OF THE STAR WARS MOVIES, BATMAN, SUPERMAN , SPIDERMAN. Crowning moment- walking the Red Carpet at the premiere of SPIDERMAN 2.The Notorious Betty Page, Tease-A-Rama The Bourne saga, Coffee and Cigarettes, Lost in Translation, Sidewalks of New York, Rodger Dodger,Way of the Gun, Blade Runner, Leon, anything with Clint Eastwood or Marylin Monroe American splendour, Love Robert Rodriguez, Tarantino , Scorcese and Kevin Smith flicks.

Television:

24, ENTOURAGE, CSI, NYPD BLUE, MATCH OF THE DAY,SKY SPORTS. I never work during the World Cup.

Books:

Nothing is more inspiring to me than sitting in Borders, collecting a bunch of photography books, a grande cappuccino and a blueberry muffin then gaining inspiration from other peoples art. Get a friend and try it.

Heroes:

Wiesia Radwanska, my love. My friends Lauren Cox, Katie Rogers, Rosie Solomon. Betty Page, Monroe, Catwoman-Julie Newmar, Adriana Lima, Scarlett Johansson, Salma Hayek- They give man a reason to live. Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Garner, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie. Kyle Baker, my Mom and George Lucas.
