About Me

Well, my name is Damien, but just call me Ian. I like that better. It's less apt to get confused with that little kid from the Omen.I live on the end of the Universe in a little town that's about 2 miles in every direction, surrounded by farms and COWS!!! Yes. Cows. And some horses. And Cornfields as far as the eye can see in between.Currently, I am a student at Monmouth University studying Secondary Education/Special Education and History. I really can't wait until I finish everything completely in 2009. I get to be a full teacher then. Hopefully, the old codgers in the History departments will have retired so I can get a position full-time.Oh, an I am so in love. =DYou know who!Currently, I tutor and do provisional instructing via the field co-op programme.Hobbies? Well, I like to read, and am a big fan of different genres. I like science-fiction the best, though. I do, however, read political philosophy, ethics (primarily Peter Singer), and topics that deal with evolutionary biology (I really like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens).I am an Atheist, gay, and an asianophile =D Hur hur. Oh come now...everyone loves asians. They're hot.I am also going to make a youtube account soon for videos, but I need to think up some good topics to talk about first--well, that and a new handpuppet.

My Interests

History, Reading, Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, Star Trek, Starwars, Philosophy.

I'd like to meet:

Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Peter Singer, etc. Someone cute and funny (well, I have already, but he lives in California).

Music:

Tatu. Helmut Lotti. Foreign music (not spanish-esque). German music is cool. I frequently listen to die Aerzte. I got a lot of Japanese Music as well: I am such a fan! zOMGs! Succinetly, my tastes are ecclectic; like my dress, I have no definite style.

Movies:

The Fifth Element (awesome movie). Starwars series. Spiderman/2.

Television:

I love Stargate SG1, and I hope the new spin-off series Atlantis will live up to the SG legend! Married with children (used to love it). History channel specials that don't focus on the west or the history of refrigerators.

Books:

Anything by Brian Jacques. Keep Ayn Rand away. Yuck. Long, boring political diatribes in the middle of a book filled with 2-D characters. No thanks.

Heroes:

Peter Singer, Richard Dawkins.

There are some flaws with some of the typical anti-abortion arguments. They often cl..1. It's human, so we can't kill it!2. It's alive, so it's wrong to kill it. Let's look at argument one. While it's...

"Good Christians" extend a Warm Welcome to UCC.

The Great War: A Fair and Balanced Analysis.

A Just War: A Fair and Balanced Analysis.   War. The very word strikes an emotional cord as one thinks of the blood spilt, of the needless death and frivolous waste. In the Histories of Man, myriad ...
