About me . Well music has been a real life saver for me . For most of my life I have played around with songwriting and the guitar , but the last six years have been a huge turning point for me and doing something with the music I make . In what you will read below about Operation Homefront , it will also tell you that I am a disabled veteran . I served in the United States Army from 1984 -1987 . I was a Paratrooper serving in the All American Airborne at Ft.Bragg North Carolina . It was a jump in the fall of 87 that the initial injury to my back begin . I never landed right as a Paratrooper , and it most of the time knocked the crap right out of me . But being caught in some high winds and getting tangled up in my gear , a severe blow to my back changed my life forever . To make a long story short , that day was the onset of a tumor that grew over the next 14 years , it grew to about 8 inches long and as round as hot dog . This thing got into my nerve endings and was hooked to my spinal cord . That explains the years of back pain , but God was with me . A neurologist Dr. Keith Kattner , saved me , I was about a month away from being paralyzed from the waste down , thanks Doc ! Three operations later I am missing 8 of the bones off my spinal cord and have a pipe running along the side of my spinal cord . Late last summer I had a spinal cord stimulator implanted , but it does not help much with the pain . The Veterans Administation rated me at 100% service connected . This all caught me off guard and took the life out of me . This is where music comes in and the support of a very loving family . I dove head first into songwriting and just pounding my guitars , even though playing the guitar causes a high amount of back pain , the pain is going to lose that fight . A man on the East coast named Tom Soares changed my life forever . In getting to know me Tom who is a random act of kindness , introduced me to my biggest influence in music , the band 38 Special . Tom Soares owns SC PUBLICTY and does all the websites for all of my hero's , 38 Special , Lynyrd Skynyrd , Van Zant , Jim Peterick and Kevin Chalfant and now even www.paulvincentcoleman.com . Several years back I met up with 38 Special down in Tunica Mississippi , the day that chanced my life . With Don Barnes of 38 Special knowing my name when I walked up to him , I made a friend with a true southern gentleman . He asked me questions I wanted to ask him , he introduced me to Donnie Van Zant as Paul , our songwriting friend . Don asked me if I had a demo and I said nope . He asked me to put something together and get it to him , he said I am not promising you anything but I would just like to hear what you have going on . That was the invitation that pulled me out of a deep depression , a feeling of being washed up as a man from being pounded by high amounts of back pain . Well I made a demo , got it to Don and with his blessing I went on to make the Operation Home Front CD . This is my way of fighting for our Troops and trying to kick ass in this war on terror . I see Don and Donnie every chance I can , the CD was made in the memory of Ronnie Van Zant, to me Ronnie was the big brother we all wanted but never had and I know he was a patriotic man . By the way Tom Soares is also a full time fireman out in Maine . A life saver he is . This is what life is all about , we all need to help each other , everyone one needs a hand to hold on to , God knows I do . Starting my 2nd CD after the first of the year , it will be on myspace . Southern Rock CD

Operation Homefront was created in the aftermath of September 11th, the resulting war on terrorism, and war in Afghanistan and Iraq, to channel volunteer support to help the families of our deployed military personnel. With hundreds of thousands of service members deployed for war with Iraq, and countless others around the world fighting the war on terrorism, thousands of spouses and children are left behind, many in need. Operation Homefront is there for them, supporting military families while their loved ones are deployed and conducting the business of America.

Paul is a disabled Veteran and sees that as a God-given opportunity to use his talents for singing and songwriting to raise money for the Troops families.

Paul and his band have recorded a Southern Rock CD to benefit Operation Homefront.
