Fat children took my life.

About Me

I just experienced, perhaps, the best musical entertainment of my life. Tonight. At the Ryman. Levon Helm. He played and sang his ever-loving ass off. And the band and guests were right there on the level, too. Perfect. -- July 18th, 2007

My Interests

i love: sharing an interest in the strange with my wife Amanda, music, food and cooking, travel, history, the mystique of the dark underbelly of mankind throughout history, eastern europe, design, architecture, art, melancholy, subtlety, slow stressless days, japan, fast european cars, good conversation, formula 1, brainstorming for fresh ideas, autumn and winter, '60s mod culture, animals, smart people (or at least people with soul and a bit of sense), people with a story, airports, analog tape, reverb, bananafishbones

I'd like to meet:

All of these people. This is truly beautiful. Hipsters make me want to vomit - but this, this is something else. It's fun as hell, it's clever without trying to smash anyone's face in and it reminds me of a time when 'great' meant something. It kind of gives me hope that America isn't totally futureless and incapable of innovation and beauty and vision. One take, one shot. Reading into it too much? Whatever. This is great. And we all work at the wrong fuckin' place.
