VISION-AREA

VISION-AREA is a multimedia project born from an idea of Ruggero Pazzaglia. In the beginning was a free jazz duo (just acoustic drums/sax) and a VJ, all improvising on a musical or visual idea. But after some rehersal the turning point came out: the ultra modern idea of the use of the images like a musical instrument had to be arranged with the ultra modern musical instrument: the computer. So Ruggero started programming chunks of sequenced statements using Reason (Propellerhead software). But the best thing happened with Ableton Live. The incredibile playability of this software became the right tool for the total improvisational performance and the project came to it's best resoults. Math Priest of the "RHYTHM" magazine (May 2006) reviewed the first demo with 4 stars!!! and wrote the following words: "Ruggero Pazzaglia was bored of pop and rock and so decided to experiment to find true freedom of expression of the things in his head. Well, you've certainly done that, Ruggy old pal, and don't let anyone tell you some thing are best left hidden! What he's done is amazing, melting music and images together so that the result is not really a film and not really a song but art- "There is no explicit harmony and no one of the instruments play chords. The harmony is covered by the images". Indeed
