Message to any theifs ripping myspace music: THESE SONGS AREN'T FULLY FINISHED VERSIONS!
I always loved the Funk from young age, rhythm and basslines always grabbed me by the throat. Learning the drums, guitar and bass influenced me into opening up to rock music. Tutoring myself on Reason3 is what made open to everything electronica has to offer making me a DnB maniac....I love all music...
My passion for music started at the age of 13 when I first started playing the drums which I excelled in very quickly and from then on started building my musical knowledge and musical tastes (knowing whats good and what ain't).
At the age of 15 I got into a ska punk band with school friends called High Velocity Fish which we did a recording of. Our song hit No.1 BIG MOUTH in the local ska punk chart. Meanwhile being in that band I picked up the acoustic guitar growing a taste for classical guitar (finger-picking) at the age of 16 and became fluent on the bass guitar basics with heavy Jamiroquai, Chili Peppers (funk in general) and Incubus influence (which also helped my drumming).
In 2003 , our bassist left and we changed the band name to SCHIZOPHRENIC which we then played punk. Later that year when I finished school I started a BTEC Music Technology course where I increased my knowledge on computer music as well as studio recording and the basics of the music industry.
During my college course I left the punky SCHIZOPHRENIC for a metal band known as CALCHAS in 2004. We were Hardcore droning, slow-paced, screamy, experimental metal (Isis & Converge influence) where I really learnt about stage presence as well as opening up to heavier (and noise)elements of music also due to a latter band member joining who was our sound effects synth guy (Encyclopedia-S [in my top friends]).
After finishing my BTEC I carried on pursuing improving my skills on Reason3 at home as well as drumming in CALCHAS for another year meanwhile still opening my mind to new styles of music.
In 2006, as I was leaving CALCHAS to come to Worcester to study my Music Production HND I got into DnB through Pendulum - Hold Your Colour {album}. Many may have a reason to hate them (old-skool DnB fans) for being very commercial but they are the reason I discovered the possibilties of DnB.
I suddenly got captivated by many other breakbeat artists in there record label (Future Prophecies) and used them to influence me in my music. I gradually have pushed my tastes more underground (Dieselboy & Vector Burn) as I discovered the whole diverse spectrum of the DnB world(D-Star, Evol Intent, Shy FX). Due to the DnB style being very experimental of nature I was easily able to get into more diverse styles such as glitch(Hrvatski) and darkstep (a bit of Darkcore also) as well as some techno.
Artists such as 65days of static truly (Glitch and post-core metal/rock blend)inspire me to this day.At this moment in time I use Reason3, Ableton Pro Live and, Sound Forge to achieve what I have made so far....
Drop those comments and tell me anything! Thanks,
SAVO
