Bio:
Stephan Deutsch aka. Steve Twain was born in Vienna in 1979.
From the mid nineties electronic music was in the forefront of his life.
In 1996 he began to work in the Viennese Dance music record-store “friendly house”.
Steve started his DJ career with some bookings in after hours clubs, which were in and around Vienna
With fast hard trance and happy hardcore tunes he carried his audience with him. With a burning need to expand and innovate, Steve wanted to produce his own tracks. To get the basic technical know how he studied audio engineering. In this period he got to know his future production and studio-partner “Thomas Greisl”.
From day one they were continuously experimenting with sounds, grooves and samples.
Austrian National Service interrupted Steve’s career so the full musical collaboration startedabout one year later.
In the year 1999 they founded the producing platform “Silverstation Music Productions”.
They released numerous productions as well as a host of co productions with other producers, artists and DJs like Tom Stevens, Ralph Fritsch & Detlef Hastik (Komakino), Max Deejay , Norbert Reichart (Imperio, DJ Visage), Timo Wucherpfennig (Beatwerk Rec.),Gary Howard (Flying Pickets), DJ Taylor &Flow, Dennis Bohn (Brooklyn Bounce) and many more…
On the South German Trance label they released 3 singles under the pseudonym “Lac Terra” in Cooperation with the Austria Trance and techno DJ “Sdricci”. Out of this project a lot of remix- collaborations with artists like Fridge, Mario Lopez & Miss Shiva developed. In 1999 Silverstation produced a remake of the ’94 Komakino trance smasher “Outface” in collaboration with refreshed label owner “Tom Stevens” and the Frankfurt producer R.Fritsch & D. Hastik, who were actually the original Producers.
The track which got massive support from DJs like Talla 2 XLC und Gary D. performed well in the dancecharts and was released on a variety of compilations.
In collaboration with the Austrian producer Norbert Reichart they released singles and an album under the alias “DJ Visage” . The first single release „The Return – Time To Say Goodbye“(EMI) had a rocky start because “Universal” released a cover of the same title simultaneously.
The ensuing promotion-fight , meant that that both tracks did well in the dance charts but sales didn’t meet expectations. Luckily things worked out better in other countries. Success in Belgium, Japan & UK meant that the “Dj Visage” album got releases in over 30 countries. After one year the project moved from “EMI” to “EAMS”. The follow up single “Rock That Sound” charted in Belgium and Austria.
In 2003 Thomas and Steve hooked up with Beatwerk A&R und Label Boss Timo Wucherpfennig. „Mysterio“ was born. Several singles and one album were released.
The video of the Roxette cover „Fading Like A Flower“ was repeatedly elected voted “dance video of the week” by Viva+ Germany and entered the Sales Charts. Mysterio was also played on TV Shows on “ZDF” and “Super RTL”. In Asia “Mysterio” is still popular.
Versatility was always important to both producers. In the last couple of years they also produced material outside the main stream dance genre. They released some progressive & hard trance tunes and signed to trance labels like drizzly & cuepoint. For the german mega rave event „Liberty One 2002” they produced the progressive party hymn in cooperation with “Top Trax”.Recently as well as the dance music Thomas and Steve have also been doing pop productions, in 2006 producing DJ Ötzi’s “Sieben Sünden” which became one of the biggest national hits of the year in Austria and stayed in the Austrian single charts over half a year. In Germany it reached top 30.
Currently they are working on new material for “Discotronic” and for Steve’s solo project.
