Axel: (Producer/Labelowner)
I was born February 2nd 1977 in Ingolstadt and as I like this city Im living here for 29 years now and dont see any good reason to change this. As everyone I had to go to school, and I dont know who suffered more from that, the school or me. But anyway, it was a funny time and there are still some friends and a Secondary School Degree as countable results.Sometime in the middle of this period (in the age of 14) I discovered my passion for deejaying, as a mate let me use his turntables during a so-called Youth Party and I benefited from my retail-salesman-apprenticeship in a company which lends ligth- and audio equipement. Working there gave me the chance to get DJ-Jobs and I invested the money I got this way in my hobbies, cars, records and studio-equipement. At this time, those Djs having their own record had a big point and were always a few steps ahead. After a few months SAE school I finally finished my first production keep da klubbstlye and the act-name DJ Valium (now DJ Volume because of legal reasons) and a guy named Alex at Max Music showed to believe in me (thank you mate) and indeed released this record. About two months later I created another song called r.u.f.f. beat which I released under my real name Axel Konrad. At this time I did not realize what happened and how hot this track was in the clubs. In almost all Dancecharts top 3 meant: phonecalls all day long and many people wanted something from me: eh Axel, would you like to do a remix for us, Axel, youve to go to ClubRotation (famous dance-programme on VIVA) in two weeks. Wow, it was really impressing how fast you can go to the top in this world! The 2nd DJ Valium single go right for came and was my first sales-charts hit and from that time on my life took mainly place at the Autobahn, in clubs and in the studio. My ambition and the studio had grown simultaneously and built, step by step, the base for further success. The only problem we had to solve was my parents cellar which got smaller and smaller
(because of the steadily growing equipement) and the noise caming out of my loudspeakers.
The solution for this problem is called Suprime Music, a 350 qm studio which is our daily home since winter 2000.Sometimes luck is really on my side as what then happened is already a piece of music-history! Since 2002 Ole and I are working on our mega-project Groove Coverage. Beside some Gold Records hanging on the studio walls this project brought us so many fun and pride. However, its such a luck and Im so happy that I can do this kind of work
Simply love it! I really hope to get the continuing support of our fans as the give us so much
power, praise and honesty (related to the legal buying of cds). I wanna thank all those kind people which accompanied and supported me on my way so far!
Verena: (Singer/Composer)
Once upon a time... no thats no fairy-tale - so lets try another start!
I was born in Neuburg/Bavaria May 14th 1984 where I grew up as well. After attending
the Kindergarten (interesting isnt it?) I discovered my first great love music!
Everything started with my dads old piano which got my full attention. So I convinced my Mam to let me learn piano and I can tell you it wasnt an easy start at all.
But as no-one is a born master I really exercised a lot to be prepared for the fine art Gymnasium (=secondary opr high school). Being there, all teachers did their best to teach me the Latin A-Level as well as Maths but just the music-teachers got my attention as they offered the right actions: concerts, chor, piano-playing and above all singing! So it wasnt surprising what happened: being 14 years of age I joined the cover-band Querbeet and had 4 funny years with them as leadsinger and keyboarder (thanks to them). Then something unpredictable happened right after my 18th birthday which forced me to make an important decision: the producers Axel and Ole gave me the chance to join their team. I wasnt sure what to do but in the end they won the fight in my mind and I said yes!In the meantime, 2 very busy years have passed, full of suprises and new situations with the result that I could learn so much (not limited to music) in such a short period of time. In the first year Ive been in the front of the act Groove Coverage. This was the best year of my life (so far) mainly because of the fans I met during all the live-gigs. Thanks to all of them for this great experience! But as I dont like to travel all the time I wasnt sad when Mell returned from her baby-break in Summer 2003! (darling I wish you all the best). On one hand, I really miss all the incredible fans, but on the other hand I really enjoy to follow new ways and having the the possibility to spend more time with my friends, family and my sweetheart (I love you babe).I somehow like new challenges and Im now concentrated on two 2 things:
My music-school Fashion Music, where I can make music (remember my first great love) attractive to younger people in a more modern and up-to-date way while teaching singing and piano. By the way, thanks to my best friend Tati this wouldnt have worked without her. The other thing Im focused on is writing songs which means that Im composing songs for other artists and hope that they get a number 1 (top 20 would be ok as well) Im pretty busy doing that. For me it is important that I do things which I love and as this is the case right now Im looking forward to a happy future.
Tanja: (Booking/Accountancy)
It was undoubtedly a decisive day when I entered Axel Konrads studio sometime in 1999 and should change by previous exemplary (matter of opinon) life! And it was also easy to predict that Ill fail my A-level for this a realistic look at my absent-list was reason enough. So, my school-carreer ended after the repeated 12th class and my professional one started with a 3-month practical-training (today Id rather call it slavery).at a Record Company as I thought this could be a good experience before I launched together with Axel Suprime Music. My first task was the sorting-out of uncountable and huge paper-stacks. And this still looks the same on Axels desk, after 6 years of co-operation! It seems that this is his intensive passsion which lead to my passionate undoing.2 years later I attended school again for 2 years and at studied the same time Musicbusiness
at the European Business Aacedemy for Media (sounds good, doesnt it?) and got a very good degree.
In the meantime, Im responsible for finance, economic matters, administration, bookings,
foreign affairs and the famous unpleasant matters of Suprime Music. Once, a very smart artist
looked for a name for my professional position which resulted in Mac Gyver Woman.
Alex: (Licensing/International Affairs)
Ive pleasure introducing myself as Im normally much more in he background of Suprime Music.
Im the oldie in our team, born 1962 in Munich and since 1985 in the Musicbusiness. My start was a buyer and seller position for import-vinyls at EAMS. Hard to believe that the main thing those days were HopHop, Electro and House. A lot of the names I had to do with are today the big players in the USA.A few years later and with an additional training in foreign languages Ive been promoted to the rank of a sales director and later on, when EAMS became more and more a real record-company to their A&R director. This position is responsible for the song- and artist selection. Between 1992 and 1993 I had tried some other business but as usually, if you have been in its hard to get out and I returned to EAMS to which the Swiss megaact DJ Bobo has been signed in the meantime. I managed his international affairs what turned out to be very successful and we could collect plenty Golden Records around the world. The Austrian danceacts Imperio and Decadance from my friend Norbert Reichart also became good charthits in this period.1995 was the year I got Managing Director of Max Music Records, founded by the same-named big Spain indie which became popular by making the famous Max Mix series. During the first years our main-important projects were Object One, 2 Fabiola, Fullhouse and Kaylab who one day made the contact with Axel Konrad. Ive pleasure looking back to Axels first visit in the Max Music Office in 1999. We liked us right from the start and I also found his demo interesting. So we made a deal and I released his first single called keep da klubbstyle under his DJ name DJ Valium. Athough I felt that this is something special nobody knew at this time that this was the start of such a long and very successful partner- and friendship with Axel and soon also Ole, Axels partner. As the songs they delivered were of high quality and fresh and I had very good connections to foreign labels I could soon get good and successful releases in many different countries. DJ Valium, for example, reached with 5 singles in a row very nice chart-positions and good sales in France. It was only logical to use these strong ties to foreign labels also for Axel and Oles other very projects Baracuda and Groove Coverage, whereas their big success in Germany supported that policy remarkably. We soon got releases in the neighbour-countries like Poland but also many Asian territories, USA, Canada and recently even Brazil joined us. In the meantime, the act Groove Coverage is in countries like Indonesia, Singapore or also Poland as popular as in Germany or Austria. Good songs simply find their fans everywhere!Apart from these international activities Im, together with Tanja, also taking care of all the contract- and administration-matters which are unfortunately also an important and labour--intensive part of the musicbusiness. Furthermore Im running and/or managing the labels
Pro-ceed (Miss Distess X), Zenith Records (Saltwater) and White & Black (SimonWood).Naturally, my daily work looks a bit different than those from the other team-members. Im not spending so much my time in clubs (just once/twice a month and then it still makes fun) or all night long at the studios, but instead of that you can find me most of the time at the Max Music office, or visiting other labels and attending the famous music-fairs like Midem or Popkomm. Also private life is another as Im living with my sweetheart Andrea (she also worked in the musicbiz) and my kids Nicolas(15) and Timo (5) close to the small Bavarian city Deggendorf. Hobbies are meeting friends, ski, mororbike, billard and powerwalking with my dog. And Music of course, whereas Ive a very wide taste including dance, pop, techno, trance, house but also rock and even jazz and blues. It just has to be good!
