About Me

Please note that none of the pictures in my photo profile are pictures of me. Cameras won't record my image. Those are models I've worked with.
I live in the far south suburbs of Chicago: I work on the near north side in a Pilsen studio. By day I am a mild-mannered corporate type: the rest of the time I'm a photographer and rather unpredictable sort of person. (I'm an Erisian.)
Attention Models: Please do not send me messages which just say, "I'd love to work with you!" or "I want to do modeling!" If you like my work and want me to take your picture, I'm flattered. But I get zillions of such requests and I can't chase models, think up concept work for strangers, or provide an individual introduction to modeling for everybody who messages me. If you want to work with me, here's the deal:
1) Unless you want to do artistic nude work, do my Girls in Towels project, or you have a really extraordinary look, I probably will not shoot you for free. I have all the free glamour and fashion models I want or need.
2) If you have a cool concept, or are a drop-dead gorgeous alternative model, and you think I should reconsider #1, send me a message with specifics, or photographs of you to make your point. If your immediate response is, "But you might steal my idea," then don't bother, because I could do that anyway, and telling me you don't trust me is not going to make me want to shoot you for free.

I don't plan to post a lot of pictures here because I already have too many online portfolios to keep current. :) You can always see my work at my Photography Site , which is updated regularly.
I do not add bands to my Friends list. No offense, but I'm just not that into music. Or advertising it. Also, if you send me a friend request and your profile is set to private, I will deny it unless you send me an email telling me who you are and why you sent the request.

My Interests

Photography, Gothic culture, metalworking, music, reading, movies. And arguing.
I shoot a wide variety of imagery: mostly I do plain old porfolio work for models. But I really like shooting edgy, alternative stuff, including erotica. Let me be clear: I will be perfectly happy to shoot traditional portfolio images of you, and I will not ask you to strip, get a tattoo, or wear black eyeshadow. It's just that that sort of thing is certainly an option.

Music:

Mostly I like movie soundtracks and scores, as I get bored if I listen to a whole album of nothing but one artist. Recent CD's I've been listening to are "Beethoven's Last Night" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, "Frozen Embers" by the Cruxshadows, "Maurice and I" by the Flash Girls, and the score to "The Matrix: Revolutions."

Movies:

Blade, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Princess Bride, Highlander (in my universe they only made one Highlander movie, incidentally,) Indiana Jones & [Blank,] Batman and Batman Returns, Man of La Mancha, The Rocketeer, Dark City, Dogma, and a whole bunch more I can't think of right now.

Television:

I like watching "COPS." I find it very therapeutic. (No matter how bad you feel about yourself, you watch an episode of "COPS" and you feel like one of the smartest people on the planet.) I watch "America's Next Top Model" for the photography portions. I watch "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" because I hate them all and I revel in their sordid misfortunes.
I've also been watching "Coupling" and "Family Business" on DVD. I loved "Wonderfalls" and "Dead Like Me" and take great comfort in the fact that those who cancelled them will burn in the fiery pit of suffering FOREVER! *bwahahahaha*

Books:

Tom Paine Maru, The American Zone, everything Terry Pratchett ever wrote, books by R.A. Heinlein, Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde investigations, Roger Zelazny's stuff, Isaac Asimov's stuff, books of photography especially featuring classic glamour such as that by Bruno Bernard, the incomparable Bernard of Hollywood.
