Rising again from their graves Mausoleum has returned! Like a dark tidal wave of post apocalyptic doom, Mausoleum continues to play "Zombie Cult” Death Metal. Known for generating a sound clearly reminiscent of early Death Metal, Mausoleum mixes influences of old school along with atmospheric horror riff writing. "Back From The Funeral" is sure to harden the artery’s of those who look to the time when Death Metal was still underground. A tribute to the Neanderthal sound of early 90's Death Metal. Mausoleum's “Back from the Funeral” will bring those who miss that era back to corpse pounding reality with this pure apocalyptic Death Metal attack.Mausoleum emerged in 2001 with a sound that crawled up from the same cemetery as legendary Death Metal Gods Autopsy, Death, Slaughter, Entombed, Impetigo and Necrophagia. The premise that drove the creation of the band was built around the influences of a handful of bands in the beginning of the Death Metal genre. Mausoleum generates songs that give a feel that revert you to a time when the Death Metal sound was a primal, savage and raw.Mausoleum constructs a sound that evolves around pounding funeral doom and sick disharmonious harmonies. Epic riff writing entwined with the laden swells of mournful melodies. Creepy songs of wriggling eerie arpeggios, that slithers across a sludgy wall-of-sound. In the 1980's, bands began cranking out rotten, gore-filled demos in dreary basements while the "regular" metal bands began selling out and getting more commercial and glossy. It was in this gory-ious era, that the real sound of pure death metal was born. The metal scene didn't know what to think of this new sound, and most were scared of it, too afraid to deal with the morbid noise and hellish vocals.In 2003 Mausoleum recorded and released "Cadaveric Displays of Ghoulish Ghastliness", their debut album released by Razorback Records; one of the most supportive label to the sound of early Death Metal. The album received surprisingly much acclaim throughout the Metal press, despite a raw production, some reviewers thought at first this was something Razorback Records had dug up from the 1990 era of Death Metal. Many could appreciate and found refreshing the direction the band sought, far away from the sound and influences most Death Metal acts emulate today. The CD instantly became a "time machine" cult classic among the fans of this genre who had longed for a taste of zombiefied flesh from the days of old. Long out of press "CDOGG" was released in Europe in 2007, reissued by Goryfied with a bonus track and expanded booklet. "CDOGG" continues to spread as does the anticipation of their sophomore release "Back from the Funeral" which has recently been completed and is expected for a early 2008 release. Mausoleum has also agreed to do a spilt 12" / CD with Ohio sluge masters Fistula, which will also be released in 2008.WORSHIP AT THE ALTER OF ZOMBIECULT DEATH METAL!!!
