About Me

Layout made by I am a proud mother of 3 grown children 40,36,34,(see picture) grandmother of 5 terrific, beautiful, smart, grandchildren 20,15,14,8,4. I also just received a 10 year old granddaughter, along with a new son-in-law. Mother-in-law to 2 great men who make my daughters very happy; daughter to the best mother in the world.I am also lucky enough to have the best big sister, a great older brother and a great younger brother. Although he is the youngest in the family,he is the strongest,a rebel with a big heart, who is finally able to do what he always wanted to do, ride his Harley and he deserves it. I am still a bit of a tomboy, but now it is blended with education, and some lady-like qualities. I love working in the yard/garden, building not tearing down. I hope that I am a better person than I was in my younger years. I know that I am happier and more content than I have been in years. I don't give advice unless it is asked of me, and expect the same from everyone else. If you are trying to sell me something, or you are looking for sex,or romance, save us both some time, I am not interested. I am here to interact with friends and family. I would love to talk to you if you have something interesting and positive to say about the pagan lifestyle or other interest I might have. NEWS JUST IN: I will be a great-grandmother in August, I'm just toooo young to be a great-grandmother, but I am looking forward to it. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HearthandHomeWitchery/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Angeliques_Kitchen/

Self Pity I never saw a wild thing Sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. D.H. Lawrence,1929"Relax and embrace your whole self... there are no rules about how you must be or what you must do, except to thine own self be true." Jack Ranella"The Earth isn't something you take from without ever giving back. The Earth is something your protect every day of the year. A river is something you defend every inch of it course. We have to look to the past and get back to some basic principles if there is going to be any future worth having." Centennial, David Janseen, Narrator.

I'd like to meet:

Since moving to Wilmette I have met some great people and continue to meet people that accept me for being me. These people live their lives, and mind their own business, nice concept isn't it. For a southern, country woman who never thought she would feel at home in a big city, I get a thrill every time I see the Chicago skyline, particularly at night, and Lake Michigan is beautiful. Lake Shore Drive is one of the most beautiful drives you can take. I also love all the museums, the plantaterium, and aquarium.

Books:

Gone With The Wind, TheDaVinci Code, Angels & Demons, Holy Blood,Holy Grail;Garden Witchery, Cottage Witchery, In Praise of the Crone, Danielle Steele books, John Grishim books, Calico Palace,Sweet Caroline; Last Child of Camelot, anything Historical or informative. I am currently reading "Wicked". I love to read. A friend just gave me 2 books on Native American history, I find them very educational.I saw a child who couldn't walk, sit on a horse, laugh and talk. Then ride it through a field of daisies and yet he could not walk unaided. I saw a child, no legs below, sit on a horse, and make it go through deep forests and woods of green to places he had never seen before he'd have to sit and stair of visions from a lifeless chair I saw a child who could only crawl mount a horse and sit up tall. Put it through degrees of paces and laugh at the wonder in our faces. I saw a child born into strife, take up and hold the reins of life and that same child was heart to say, thank God for showing me the way.
Lane Frost From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lane Frost (October 12, 1963 in La Junta, Colorado – July 30, 1989 in Cheyenne, Wyoming) was a professional bull rider and Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association member, who died as a result of injuries sustained in the arena at the 1989 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo seconds after he dismounted his bull "Taking Care of Business," and was later taken off the riding circuit Frost was born in La Junta, Colorado, the son of Clyde and Calgina Frost. He spent his childhood in Vernal, Utah, and his teenage years in Lane, Oklahoma. He showed an interest in rodeo at the age of three, and began riding calves when he was ten. He was taught the art of riding by his father and also his good friend Freckles Brown, who was a World Champion Bull Rider. In Oklahoma, he was the National High School Bull Riding Champion in 1981. Frost was the Bull Riding Champion of the first Youth National Finals held in Fort Worth, Texas, held in 1982. On January 5, 1985, he married Kellie Kyle, a barrel racer from Quanah, Texas. Frost joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and began rodeoing full time after graduating from high school in 1982. In 1987, he realized a lifelong dream when he became the PRCA World Champion Bull Rider at the age of 24. That same year, the great bull "Red Rock," owned by Growney Bros. Rodeo Company, was voted Bucking Bull of the Year. In 309 attempts, no one had ever ridden "Red Rock," and in 1988, at the Challenge of Champions, Frost rode "Red Rock" in seven exhibition matches and was successful in four out of seven tries. Frost went on to compete at the Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This was the first time that an exhibition rodeo was held at the Olympics. On July 30, 1989, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, after completing a successful 85-point ride on a bull named “Taking Care of Business”, Frost landed in the mud. The bull turned and hit him in the side with his horn, breaking some ribs and severing a main artery. Lane initially got to his feet and started running toward the bucking chutes. However, as he was motioning for help, he collapsed. Due to excessive internal bleeding, he died on the arena floor before he could be transported to the hospital. Frost actually finished 3rd in the event. As for "Taking Care of Business", he went on to appear in the 1990 National Finals Rodeo. Frost is buried next to his hero and mentor Freckles Brown at Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. The Lane Frost Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hugo, Oklahoma is dedicated to his memory. His parents live in Lane, Oklahoma, and travel to many rodeos around the country giving speeches in his memory. Frost was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colorado in August 1990. In 1994, the biopic movie 8 Seconds was released based on Frost's life story. Luke Perry portrayed Frost in the movie. After Lane's untimely death, Cody Lambert, one of his traveling partners, and a founder of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), created the protective vest that most professional cowboys wear when riding bulls. Frost's best friend, Tuff Hedeman, later helped found the PBR along with Lambert and others and served as president of the PBR a number of years. Hedeman later went on to found Championship Bull Riders (CBR). The medical team for the CBR is named after Frost. Frost has been inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, as well as the Oklahoma Sports Museum. Country music star Garth Brooks paid tribute to Frost in his music video for the hit single "The Dance" and wrote the song "The Beaches of Cheyenne" about Frost. The nu metal band KoRn paid tribute to Frost in their music video for the song "Hold On".

Heroes:

My new significant other,Dick; my late father,my mother, my late husband,,JFK, American solders in all the wars,(they are all heroes). I really think who a person considers a hero, depends on the person. Anyone that fights for something they believe in. My youngest brother, who raised four children almost single-handedly, and did a great job of it. Single parents that are trying to make it on their own, particularly the ones who don't get child support. People that fight for the greater good.
