Someday I'd be on the other side of the fist

About Me

- My real band is H Is for Hellgate . Check it!
-This page is the softer, solo side of me. On a typical day, one might find me slaying some wicked lyxxx with my band, H Is for Hellgate.
-I like to drink wine (Shiraz, thanks for asking) and record songs.
-I am from Montana and will remind you of that fact at every opportunity.
-I play the guitar, bass drums, bass, keyboard and mandolin. If I could clone myself and start a band, our asses would hit the road and go for the big time.
-I started playing guitar through the influence of my idolization of Wynonna Judd as a child.
-The first instrument I played was the violin. I was three.
-I like hip-hop.
-I like Neil Diamond (and not ironically)
-I do, occasionally, talk about things other than music. For example, I have an extensive knowledge of telephony. Don't you want to be my friend now?
-I hope to someday have the guts to busk.
-My friend Mel and I have a wicked obsession with all things Tiki.
-I can't spell, but I'm good at math
-I am hopelessly organized and thus, all the bullet points

Happy half birthday to me

The earth has exactly half way around the sun since my last birthday and from here, it's a slippery slope downward as I approach the end of my days as someone who is young and pretty.  In ex...

Soundtrack to my life

I don't normally do these questionnaire things, but this one 1) involves music and 2) doesn't require me to disclose personal information (other than the embarrassing music in my iPod collection. ...

Friends in okay places

Thanks to my awesome peeps who came out to see the Hellgate and hang for a brief while as the band breezed through the Northwest this weekend.  I always end up wishing I could spend more time wit...

Tina Fey

Guess what?  H Is for Hellgate will debut the song Tina Fey in Seattle at the Sunset Tavern on Thursday, October 4th - the same night as the 30 Rock season premiere!  The bad news is that we...

Some people went to Bumbershoot over the long weekend. I did this...

New song!  Actually, it's a rewrite of a song I wrote not too long ago for this band I was in that I wasn't supposed to ever speak of.  We'll call it Band X.  Long story short, I quit B...

Im sure this made someone mad, but it made me happy

Sometimes, on my way to work, I pass by the Kinkos at the end of Broadway.  There's a ground-level fountain outside of the building and this is the second time I've seen an impressive mou...

I finally get The Mars Volta

A couple people have given me copies of The Mars Volta in the last couple months.  Because I like other post-hardcore/math bands, I was supposed to like them.  I gave them about 10 chan...

Be Prepared To Die Alone

Okay, so I'm doing something I probably shouldn't do - posting an H Is for Hellgate song before we record and release it as a band.  But it's a stirpped down, slightly different acoustic ver...

Strike a violent pose

I've recently become part of a band in addition to H Is for Hellgate about which I've been contractually obligated not to speak. Sure, the "contract" was hand-written in electric blue gel pen, but the...

New Song

I wrote a new song this last weekend and recorded it tonight.  It's a folksy number since I seem to have never shaken off the Indigo Girls phase from my college years.  It was actu...
