About Me

Hi all. My name is Kevin R.Spencer and I'm the Managing Editor of a magazine entitled 'Collectables'. My company (Out of the Blue Design Consultants - parent company to Collectables Magazine) is celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. It was decided to issue a special edition Gary Numan / Tubeway Army single to mark this occasion. These singles are promotional gifts for associates and clients of our company. The edition number was set at 29 to mark the fact that it's 29 years since Tubeway Army released their first single on the Beggars Banquet label. This 7" black vinyl double-sided single (Cars / Are 'Friends' Electric?) is authorised by Beggars Banquets - it's not a bootleg/illegal pressing. I'm also a member of AFEnet (ID: The Master). I recently noticed a thread by Jo79 featuring the fantastic work carried out by a charity in Australia called Starlight. I contacted Jo to see if it would be possible to have one of these records auctioned on eBay with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity? Jo and Starlight were fantastic and very encouraging about this idea. I signed a terms and conditions contract with Starlight so as to make this auction legal and aboveboard. This is Starlight: http://www.starlight.org.au/ I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jo and all the other members of AFEnet that have been very supportive - thank you.The single (number 24 from 29 worldwide) sold for an incredible £2,501.50 on 25th June 2007. Thank you to the winning bidder.Shown here, is the current issue of my magazine (issue number 81). Inside there is a 6-page full-colour article on collecting Gary Numan records/memorabilia written by Lewis Lewellyn and Barry Sturdy. If you would like more information on obtaining a copy please send me a PM.Since Collectables Magazine was first published in 1997, we have produced a number of 'Special Edition' gold and silver-plated Corgi die-cast models. Most of these models have been produced in very low numbers (gold: only 7 worldwide and silver: 62 worldwide). The 24 carat gold-plated models are presented in aluminium cases as shown in the first of the following pictures. One of the above 007 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 gold-plated models sold at a specialist auction house for over £1,600.Above: 007 James Bond Aston Martin Vanquish gold-plated model.Above: 007 James Bond Goldfinger's Rolls Royce gold-plated model.Above: Silver-plated 1960s Batmobile.
