The 80’s was a time of big money, bad hair, Reaganomics and image conscious music. For Musical acts of that era image was just as important as the music. Though it is not uncommon to see many of them perform today, few are able to recapture the magic that once made them famous.Tribute bands are an attempt to recreate the magic from the past. Recently I had the opportunity to witness a few tribute bands and walked away impressed with what I saw and heard. It was at that point I decided to document a music scene not many people are aware of.Any band that had a following in the 70’s or 80’s has some kind of tribute. Keep in mind there some really good tributes and some really bad ones, but what’s happening is bigger than the bands that are being imitated. That alone makes the tribute scene valid. People are filling up clubs, drinking a few beers, having a good time and singing along to songs from the familiar past. For that reason the tribute bands, and the players themselves deserve a tribute and recognition for trying to entertain us...
