The first CD called Songs Of The Soul was a compilation of Native American Flute Songs to relax and calm your soul. Now, 6 years later, this latest CD is a continuation of the beautiful Native American Flute Music that was started in the first CD. The group was formed around 2000 in San Francisco,California. All members of this group continually stayed connected to the Native American world. As a group they have performed all over the Bay Area as well outter areas, such as Stanford Hospital, San Jose College, San Bruno Nursing Home, Santa Barbara Arts Center, at many festivals and Pow Wows in California. To their credits they have done numerous stage shows such as Dancing The Circle, Crazy Horse Play, and have done backup music for Curly Bear Wagner(Blackfeet Storyteller).Dave Loo comes from a mixed heritage of Chinese and Hawaiian descents. He is always full of music and energy, but a very quiet man. His Native American Flute and his music talks for him. People have told him when they see him play they see Chiefs dancing all around him. He can play any wooden or clay flute. His talents includes drumming, rattles, whistles, didjeridoosand can sing too. He loves anything having to do with Indian history, arts, crafts and spiritual teachings.Christine Madden come from a mixed heritage of Blackfeet, Creek , Cherokee and Black American and English descents. She is a very creative musician in this group. We all have our specialties when it comes to getting a CD out. Watch out, she is a perfectionist. She is the most loving person you would ever meet. She had been trained as a nurse and dedicated her life to that profession for twenty five years. She taught herself how to play the Native American Flute after being gifted a Native American Flute off the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana.Pauline Woodley also known as Woody, a creative musician and watercolor artist. She was raised in New York City, the Bronx and continues searching for her roots in the Native American community. She comes from a mixed heritage of Irish and German decents, but suspects her maternal grandmother was of Cree descent. Pauline did the collage on our CD. Her sense of timing and rhythm, was a blessing in her contributions on some of the tracks of the CD.The CD is called - One Fire, One Heart, One Spirit, One Circle. This will be our second CD we have put out. Barry Higgins aka White Crow Flutes did the art work on the front of the CD. We have seventeen songs on it. It took us two years to make it.
Influences: POW WOW'S, Native American friends, Mac Lopez, Lee Johnson, Hawk Littlejohn, Geri Littlejohn, Mike Oitzman, and Curly Bear Wagner. Then there are the flutemakers themselves: Scott Loomis, (My first flute), Woodsong Flutes by Geri and Hawk Littlejohn, Moonlight Creek Flutes, by Mike Gulino, Heartsong Flutes by JP Gomez and White Crow Flutes by Barry Higgins, who by the way painted the cover for our CD.
